Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Reckon the Weid can build on his 2nd half tonight.
Needs a confidence boost and might've got a little hit tonight.
Got a couple marks to stick.
Kicked 2 from 3.
Gets his hands on just about everything.
I'm backing him in to start holding a few more.
Reckon he's gotta relax, trying too hard.
Feeling the pressure to hold his spot.

Huge result lads.

We make our opponents look ordinary.

Bounced back.

Clean football, very little fumbling.

Good use of taggers.

Good coaching.

Jordon, Lever, Oliver, Harmes, Tracc, Tmac, Spargo, Rivers, Petty, Hibbs, all good.

Melky and Weids on thin ice, IMO.

Still need to take our chances when kicking for goal.

Have plenty of upside and can expect more improvement as the season unfolds. Accuracy, finding separation when offensive, not flying for the same mark (did Weids spoil Fritta), taking the first option, not fumbling easy marks, a few more shepard's, Salem and Hunt had average games, so missed that fast ball through our corridors.

We will miss Langdon, he is so important with him running hard and fast all game.

Friday night footy with a win, we can enjoy the rest of the weekend's games and get talked about in all the shows.

On the jumper clash. Wow, lots of difference in them, made even more when the white shorts are on. Disappointing, for all the  broadcasters talking it up. The indigenous players feeling extra pride and then the let down. Why can't the MFC stand up to the AFL, like the others. Dreamtime game was played with much more clash. I guess the unveiling will be even more special in the Alice.

He wasn’t actually to bad in the first half, he was hitting the contest breaking packs and bringing the ball to ground. His first half was very much a nearly game. I was thinking he’s close to taking a few clunks here and getting some confidence

Can’t agree, as once again there was horrible inconsistency around the tackle rules. Better than last week most certainly, and evenly distributed to both teams, but still woefully unpredictable. I have no idea which way they’ll decide on tackles more than 70 percent of the time. Needs fixing.

We won. And we deserved to win. Stop whinging.

After watching the Dees beat the Dogs tonight, I have just calmed down just enough to be able to read and write. I do this after texting several of those closest to me sending messages of congratulations after tonight's's great Melbourne victory over Western Bulldogs. I have so many positive emotions going on right now. The first is my  absolute joy of watching the Dees maintain unrelenting pressure for 4 quarters during this evening's top or the table match against the Dogs, and watch them take down the temporary league leaders and reclaim it for us all!. Top of the Ladder. Earned it the hard way! The second is after 57 years of supporting the Melbourne Football Club, I, not for the first time, but for the most confident time, believe. A new whiff wafts and I like it. On so many occasions over the past weeks and months, whilst wearing my scarf with pride - not just to the footy but also in public and to work (like I have done for years), random strangers, old friends, and other unexpected people are now approaching me and having lengthy discussions with me about the MFC and how well we are doing. The third is I am so proud to be able to tell them I am a member of the MFC.  These discussions have all been positive and I continue to enjoy them very much. I believe I may well be the most elderly continuous supporter of the the Melbourne Football Club to have not been alive when Melbourne last won a premiership. Having been born in October of MCMLXIV I challenge any MFC supporter to knock me off my mantle.

great win!! I love it when Harmes gets a run with role. He seems to thrive on it.

I also thought Petty played super well and hopefully gets a lot of confidence from tonight.  Clayton Oliver quite possibly leading the Brownlow right now.

Can I just say that Harmes ‘played on’ Libba and was great getting him out of the slot at stoppages but that was not a hard tag.

He had 23 touches. You can’t carry a tagger these days.

Harmes was fantastic and showed why he came back into the side quickly.

I said during the week if it's one player to shut down Weightman it's Rivers.

Took him to the absolute cleaners and completely nullified him out of the game.

He has such an annoying head. Seems a [censored].

I will say one thing. Our goal kicking is going to hurt us badly one day. We miss too many regulation shots.

My liver empathises with your liver. Let's hope they cope with many more Friday victories (and any other day ending with day...)

I am so impressed with so many of the players in this team. Petty was a gun today, harmed went ballistic, Brayshaw played so [censored] well, rivers was a tank particularly for someone his size, Jordan was all time. And then to top it all off, Sparrow is sitting there as the medical sub ready to tear someone’s head off and whilst his 40 seconds tonight wasn’t enough I have no doubt he will make someone want to quit AFL in the coming weeks. I love this team.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
