Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

So Jeff Kennett  has come out and said , it's all a disaster, too hard to make happen and we should call the season off.

I think he should be strapped to a chair and have his eyelids pried open and watch the Hawks 2021 season on repeat, for the rest of the year.

What on earth could the SA be asking for if they have agreed to FIFO for Collingwood.

Not much chance of the QB game at AO if that is how the SA are going to negotiate dictate.  Too much grandstanding going on by Premiers.

As I said in earlier post SA is a key reason why we in lockdown.

They should stop being so stubborn and step, up not for the AFL but for Daniher and the MND cause.

SA being absolute a holes. We are in lockdown because you stuffed up your quarantine. Not once have I seen them offer to help out Victoria. Bloody typical.
Thank god for NSW. One normal state.

I'm very fortunate that lockdown is only inconvenient for me - unlike for many whose livelihoods are affected or have kids in home schooling but ...

On my morning exercise walk 1/3rd of people not wearing masks.  We have 2 Covid sites in the neighbourhood but about 20 people assembled outside the local cafe waiting for their take-away coffee - chatting, half a metre apart - no masks.  Multiply by a thousand Melbourne-wide.  Selfish, thoughtless people who think they are special and the rules don't apply to them.  This is a big reason why there is lockdown and extended lockdown.

Don't get me started on unvaccinated aged care workers - what they're thinking beggars belief.

"All politics is local".

SA will allow AFL games with crowds once the Government there determines that the voting public prefers AFL games to be played at the Adelaide Oval to their fear of another Covid outbreak.

"we are being guided by medical advice"

Couldn't help but chuckle that Queensland Ana and her health advisor had not been vaccinated and then when they were publicly pressured they decided to get the flu vaccine first

now suggesting in the Age that the extension will be longer than a week

My guess is the Monday night of QB

Would make sense. If they made it a week, it would lift Friday week. And then after 2 weeks in lockdown people are going to want to get out and about, including on the public holiday Monday.

Very frustrating, but probably good risk management.

Throws the bombers clash into doubt crowd wise

The Feds should come to the party, get as much vaccine to victoria as possible and support the vic gov to have use the lockdown period to vaccinate as many people as humanly possible. use the army to support

Starting with the poor buggers in disability accommodation, aged care facilities and all the related front line workers.

Set an ambitious goal. Make it a war footing. And vaccinate Victorians.

This is not state issue. This is a national issue. For Christ sakes we are a country, not a series of self governing islands.  The feds need to step up.

Leaving potics aside it is an abject moral fail that the feds have not sorted the vaccination to the disability accommodation, aged care

I think I find myself in a similar position Polly. Not being able to see my GD's as often as normal is my big problem. Your last line says it all " what were they thinking" I suggest not a lot. The other problem is we have moved firmly into the " it won't happen to me" phase.

PS I have 2 friends who yesterday told me they are waiting for the Pfizer vaccine. It is more effective and less chance of problems. But that could be next year! Yes but we don't do much we won't get the virus. So why have it all? Silence.

Collingwood allowed into Adelaide, just when you think common sense has prevailed the SA CHO comes out with this pearler for those who will attend the match

Apparently, Case 5 who is the case zero in the current outbreak was eligible for a  vaccine but hadn't decided to have it.

I was told the Flemington vaccination hub, in the northern suburbs ie the epicenter of the current outbreak,  had been virtually empty as over 50's weren't getting vaccinated.

No wonder the vaccine roll-out has been slow - people choosing not to have it.

The silver lining in the current outbreak is that it has shaken people up and we are now setting vaccination records in Victoria.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
