Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The decreased crime rate goes far beyond the burglars needing to apply for JobKeeper.

The lockdowns also prevent groups of idiots gathering at pubs and other venues then committing random acts of violence, sexual assault, property damage, traffic offences and other forms of drunken stupidity.

My concern is that WA opens the border, Victorians head over to Perth, but a subsequent outbreak means WA says "if you've been in Vic in the last 14 days you go into quarantine" or similar.

Fair point. That would be extremely unlucky but a risk you would have to accept.

If you were caught up in VIC just after arriving in Perth, you'd probably look at attending the game and then hand yourself into jail after you've seen the boys do their victory lap.

All along I have said that if Covid only targeted stupid low life scumbags, I would be very happy to open up and let natural selection do the work.

Just like I wish we could make it law that if you attend a 'freedom' or lockdown rally you are no longer entitled to receive medical care if you catch Covid. You want your freedom? Here is your freedom to die.

Does venting about Alan Jones somehow make up for Dan Andrews shutting down your state?

Hoping that Victoria can re-open so all of you guys can see the Grand final live. Vic sure has been hit hard by this thing.

Otherwise a Brisbane granny. I would walk down if that's what it took to see the Dees win a flag.

Dan Andrew hasn't locked down our state, Covid has.

I find this site somewhat hopeful.

It's a counter site for world vaccine rates that allows you to look at any country.

The world is now over 4 Billion doses

https://covidvax.live/

Japan at nearly 2 million doses a day is one of the biggest improvers as is Russia at 700k per day.

India still at around 5M per day.. needs to achieve a minimum of 10M and of course China at 20M per day

As has alcoholism and depression amongst young people.

My best friend is a GP.  She told me yesterday that she felt like crying during all the mental health care consults she was doing with young people. She had no advice to give them anymore, because she felt the same.

I've been in survival mode each time we've gone into lockdown. But last night I just broke down. It's all just got too much. The financial, mental and emotional pressure on me and my family and everyone I know, especially my single friends, and those who work on the frontline, is too much!

And I am well aware how lucky I am compare to so many people. I can still work from home, and my husband while his business has really suffered, is still classified as an essential worker so is able to work. We are getting by, but so many people aren't. We got takeaway last night, and I swear the restaurant owner looked like he was about to have a nervous breakdown. We got way more than we could eat because we just felt so bad. I'll be eating day old Pizza and crying into my wine tonight.

You're right. Lets be like NSW and not do a lockdown, and then let cases get out of hand, and then do a lockdown that is only half effective, and then do a hard lockdown, and then have 300 cases 6 weeks into lockdown, and then be in lockdown for another 4 months.

Great strategy.

Re-read the 2 posts I made, the comments they were in regards to, then explain how you came to the conclusion that I was in any way asking for the above.

You guys are hysterical. It's getting embarrassing.

I'm not jumping to the conclusion (ok, maybe a little bit) that I've been given the wrong vaccination... I am wholly hoping it is an administrative error.

Perhaps you're laughing at the shambles that is this government :mahoney2:

sounds more like public service shambles than government per se

You are saying that it is Dan Andrews locking down Victoria. When in fact it is not. It is the best health advice, the PROVEN advice, that is locking us down and not for the first time, thanks to the incompetence and blind eye turned by the nuffies of NSW and the likes of Alan Jones who tell the community that this is not a big deal. So they go about their lives, ignoring the health measures, spreading it to the entire state and now almost the whole country!

And maybe you should tell the family of the 29 year old who died at home this week that we are hysterical. Or the family of the young woman in her 30s. Or maybe you can tell my friend who is a front line worker who at 35 nearly died from Covid last year while taking care of sick patients who told him they didn't want to wear a mask because Covid isn't even that bad.

I am hearing Armidale (NSW tablelands) to go into snap lockdown.

Idiotic Sydneysiders are heading into the regions. It's only a matter of time until all NSW is in lockdown...

I think I just read someone flew into Tassie in breach of rules (I think from Syd?) and absconded and has since tested positive...

Should've put the ring around Greater Sydney like Andrews suggested

Well, that is quite obviously the case. Many regional NSWers have been calling for it for weeks, as well as Mel Stage 4-esque lockdowns for Greater Sydney from the get go.

And yet, here we are.

Mark McGowen has to guarantee that I can attend?

I assume it gets thrown out the window if borders are shut, which going by the fact it's WA, they will be.

I just don't know how the AFL can play the game down there. Their state calls off crowds hours before games. And they are so isolated you make it impossible for the fans of the competing clubs (lets be honest, it ain't West Coast v Freo granny) to attend.

SA seems far more reasonable, but as I understand it Optus Stadium has bigger capacity and WA has better facilities for clubs to hub in. The players seem to be having a great time in Perth this week while we freeze in lockdown 6.0 😌

Not if you have had blood clots its not, Govt is refusing to budge and ill be buggered if i will sign an indemnity, given my history. Its Phizer or nothing at this stage

I'm a bit worried about your risk assessment thought processes. You willingly stand outside the Casey ground to watch training (for which we are grateful) even though you know there are snakes in the vicinity.

The number of deaths in Australia from blood clots caused by AZ is 7 out of 7 million doses given, obviously the classic "one in a million". The number of fatalities in NSW from Covid is 76 out of 8.2 million people. That's more than 9 in a million. Are you sure it's worth taking that risk of remaining unvaccinated when an alternative is available? (I appreciate every person's circumstances and individual health profile can vary.)

Oh, and in Australia there is an average of two fatal snake bites per annum. Just something for you to think about.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
