Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I hear ya OD, it sucks.  tough to keep your head up.  the fact that others have it worse doesn't stop it being ****house.  so complain away I say!

hopefully not too many months until the wheel turns in our favour

I'm so flat this week, I don't even care that much if the demons win on Sat. empty stadium, not celebrating with mates.

I'm sure I'll fire up by Saturday though.

I know the feeling well DD good to hear there are others with similar feelings. Go Dees.

Another small piece of luck is that we did not need to travel this week, and Lever had his baby. I heard him on the Gus and Gawny podcast saying he will need to manage being at home for the birth if it happened while we were interstate. So lucky break there!
Same with Tmac's newborn spending time in the hospital this week. If we were in a hub right now you would imagine he would fly home, and nobody would begrudge him that.

No more babies due during the season, all safely out of the womb during byes and Victorian games. Well done everyone!

Yes we have been lucky with babies being born away from game day.

However, T Mac could've been excused for taking personal leave the weekend his wife was due to give birth. His mind wasn't on the job the day we played Collingwood, and perfectly understandable.

I think the Jones twins are due in September.

And Gawn Jnr is due in October if the season is delayed.

It's that old saying - 'don't count your AFL players' babies until they've hatched'.

If I had $1 for every time I’ve heard that old saying…

I’d have a grand total of $1. ?

And his baby was in hospital a few days before the Hawthorn game. Not amongst his best games this season.

Mrs Gawn is due in November around Melbourne Cup time if I remember correctly from the podcast.;

Not sure about Jones. Twins generally are delivered early via a pre-scheduled C-section. Far less likely to be a surprise or full term. My guess is they already have a roughly scheduled plan as do all multiple pregnancies which are always considered higher risk.

Edit: I think Tmac has had a rough trot since his baby was born. Can understand why his form has been a bit up and down. Hope for his family's sake and our footy hopes that everything gets sorted out quickly.

Seems we're in a Covid Window, Premiership Window and a (Baby) Delivery Window.

Covid baby boom is a real thing.

Seems like people got really bored in the first lockdown and decided to pro-create. I bet they are really regretting that poor life choice in lockdown 5.0!

The conventional wisdom has been that after this week we'd fly to the Gold Coast, then from there to Perth to play West Coast.

I wonder, though, whether we'll be staying in Melbourne to get our game vs Adelaide played while they're here.

I could foresee the AFL reshuffling our games to keep us in Vic for a block, and then interstate for the GC and WC games, rather than sending us interstate for two weeks but still needing to bring us back.

We wouldn't need to quarantine ex WC back to Vic, which suits the final round v Geelong. I wonder if there are plans to run Dogs, Adelaide and Geelong in Vic, now, then Suns-WCE, pre final bye, finals....

Western Australia should immediately be ruled out as a grand final option.

McGowan has twice plunged Perth into lockdown and locked out fans on the morning of game day.

How can the AFL take that risk? It would be an absolute embarrassment and a farce if that worst case scenario transpired.

Play it in QLD if they have to, or suck it up and cop a 40,000 crowd at the MCG as a show of goodwill to Victorians who have clearly done it the toughest since March 2020.

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim
