Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The only beneficiary amidst all this is Collingwood: it takes the spotlight away from the hot mess their club is atm.
But fear not, I have total confidence in them to once again jump onto the front burner.

What the hell is going on??

we have vaccinated less than 400000 people In the same time USA have done  50% of the population

Our current rate is 15% or something Third world status

Dude, we are at 2%.

Yes, you read that right.

Another beneficiary might be the AFL if the NRL decides not to proceed with the NRL State of Origin game at the MCG in early June.

It's quite simple.  There are more people than mRNA vaccines.  It's critical that we get vaccinated to return to a normal life and save lives.  So those that are in the (already) low risk bracket get AZ and those in the low but slightly higher risk get mRNA,

Your attitude means these lockdowns will likely go on for many more months than necessary if those that can safely get vacinnated don't.  We live in a community and what we do is important to that community.

Bob I agree there are limited doses available, I agree that the under 50's are at a slightly higher risk of blood clots. Can you agree that those that want to be vaccinated should be able to now, and that those that are prepared to wait have the right to do so? I put it to you that there are not enough doses or capacity at the moment to vaccinate  everyone that wants a vaccine now. I am an adult and understand the risks. I will give up my place in the queue to someone who wants AZ now and will happily wait until the vaccine I choose is available, I will wait my turn.

Your assertion that my attitude will extend lock-downs for many more months is factually incorrect. If I give up my place to an under 50 that wants to be vaccinated now it does not extend any lock-down. The vaccine queue is no longer, I simply move back in the queue. My choice.

My colleagues at Champion Data think the Brisbane game will be in Sydney next week if the Melbourne outbreak is not contained.

1.3% fully vaccinated

The comparison was against fully-vaccinated Americans.

Sorry wasn’t having a go, agree with you that the fully vaccinated percentage is terrible

Oh no, didn’t take it that way.

But the comparison of fully-vaccinated Americans vs Australians really does serve to illustrate just how inept the government has been at both rolling the vaccine out, and getting the messaging right.

And of course our ever-degrading media have been dreadful with their insatiable appetite for content. This blood-clot narrative is on them. I’m not suggesting blood-clots don’t occur (extremely infrequently) due to the vaccine, but when was the last time you saw a news story/article about clots relating to the contraceptive pill? You simply don’t, because it’s not “interesting” enough, even though the risk is significantly higher. I could go on about this, at times, pathetically apathetic country and it’s so-called “leadership”...

Excuse my spleen. For a bunch of personal reasons, this particular lockdown has timed even worse than the other ones and I am fuming today. Better to try and stay away from comment boxes...

Oh please no.

Hoping our game gets moved elsewhere at the last minutes seeing as though we can't attend. Probably a better chance of beating the Dogs in Sydney or Canberra than at Marvel.

To be fair at the time, he had the Pfizer I'm not sure the AZ had been approved by our authorities.

Even if AZ had been approved it is worth noting that Albanese also had a Pfizer shott and has now had his second albanese-gets-his-second-pfizer

I'm happy for our country's leaders to be vaccinated as early as possible.

Btw, Morrison's wife, mother and mother-in-law have had the AZ.  His daughters haven't been vaccinated as they are not age eligible.

Balanced posting on such a critical subject would be useful.

Albenese isn't the leader LH.  Balanced posting?  Nothing i have posted isn't factual regardless of whether some posters like or don't like it due to their political tendencies or otherwise.

The Libs placing a huge bet / investment on AZ and pushing so hard for ALL to use it including threats and bribes, at least until their back flip on Sunday, might also be explained in part by the fact that there is (or was at the time of signing) an ex Senior Lib Staffer on the board of AZ Australia...

Probably useful to draw a distinction between AZ and Pfizer.

CSL apparently are producing 1M doses/week in AU. I think I read another 500k/month coming in. They are not all being used (apparently). GP clinics (in NSW at least) have ample AZ due to the hesitancy. All of which to say anyone over 50 could go and get AZ right now without issue. The mass vac centre in Mel has ample spare capacity at present, as of 3 days ago. Anyone under 50 could also get it, should they wish to do so.

Pfizer is another story - I think I read that another 20M are due by end of year - that doesn't help now obviously. Elderly, disabled, 1A/1B need doing first. Doesn't help those under 50 who wish to get it obviously.

I think I read Moderna have 20M coming before EOCY with another 20M Q1CY2022.

When are the government going to learn, stop the flights coming in and you stop the virus

What would have been an idea (months ago) was to put stranded citizens in “hot” countries on a form of jobkeeper from a distance. The majority of people who needed to return were stuck for financial reasons. Keep them there, but keep them financially supported.

You aren't suggesting Game of Mates is at play are you RN! I'm shocked - SHOCKED! Let's not forget Pfizer and Moderna mid last year came knocking and said how much do you need (apparently) and local mRNA mfg capacity was raised early last year....

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
