Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Look if you said at the start of the year we would start 9-0 we would never have believed it. We are still in the top 2.

Let's face it we haven't played great the last few weeks. This is a reality check & a typical Melbourne loss.

Just so many players down today & out if form.

Dumb things were done at dumb times. I hope goody shows them the last 7 minutes to highlight our errors. Top teams don't give up those leads.

Be interesting to see how they respond.  Our defence was terrible today and forwards no where good enough.  Oliver was brilliant as was Petracca but the rest were missing.

It is a loss we had to have.

Thank you! I couldn’t agree more. I’m literally gutted. So your suggestion is a great one. But personally I’m gonna need a little more than an hour. ?

I wish I could be angry. Being disappointed is so much harder.

If you were literally gutted, wouldn’t you be dead? ?

If it was a win, as it should’ve been with the two bottled calls at the death, there would be more focus on how we were able to rally in the second half. We adjusted to block up the corridor and our intensity noticeably lifted.

I’m not convinced Brown would’ve made much difference either. Our forwards struggled to get isolation all night and bombing it on his head would not have suited him.

Crows to their credit were terrific and deserved the win.

We lost but it can serve as an important lesson and could be a good kick up the backside before facing two of the best teams in it.

The regrettable truth is that umpires are human. Many of them simply can’t avoid letting the crowd influence their decisions, and it’s on the AFL to create better standards of umpiring by selecting those who can reliably arbitrate with balance regardless of the context. “The loss we had to have”, “didn’t play well”, “missed too many opportunities”, all of that is true. The greater truth, and it is objectively unavoidable, is that bad umpiring determined the result of that game. Given that every team cops it over a long enough timeline, we of course  have to just suck it up. None of which changes the fact that umpiring standards are the biggest, most disappointing blight on Australian Football, no less than at the highest level.

Tex Walker is a [censored], and not because he kicked that goal.

He snipes off the ball, dump tackles oliver's head into the ground, whinges to the umps constantly.

I wish Steve would have given him the buddy treatment and put him in his place.

And now the infighting is gonna start. Boy, Dees fans turn on each other in a heartbeat. There’s gonna be ppl snapping at each other, and bagging the team mercilessly is something else I just can’t abide by. So I’m just gonna excuse myself now. ‘Night all. ❤️?I’m sorry but I needed to say that. Probs should’ve said it in a nicer way. I think I need to lie down for a bit. Or maybe a stiff drink. Or maybe both. ?

well our winning streak had to come to an end in typical melbourne style against a bottom side. i think our team sometimes get ahead of themselves and take bottom sides to lightly, as they usually the ones that roll us first.  Missed Salem, jetta while i love the guy and what he has given the club he is a close down players and not a distributor like salem, probably not the best choice for tonight. But it is what it is, umpiring was not great, but the crows should not have been anywhere near as close to us. our kicking for goal is still poor at times. it cost again tonight. some of the selflessness that we have seen in previous weeks was not as evident this week. Hopefully this will bring the best out of the players in the next few weeks.

Congrats to Adelaide, they were hungry and could have thrown in the towel after going 16 points down, although I think the umpires ultimately got them over the line.

The late exclusion of Salem affected our backline organisation and connection with our midfield. May and Hibbo were off and Nev no longer appears up to the speed and intensity of AFL football.

Delivery into the forward line didn't give our key forwards much hope of getting into the game and once on the deck our we lacked forward pressure.

Clarrie played a brilliant game of football, clearly BOG.

Our skills were off and not always due to the Crows pressure. There were numerous instances where a simple handball would have landed us in attacking positions but missed targets or fumbles meant we couldn't take advantage of our clearance work.

Whilst it's not the end of the world, my inner alarm bells are ringing with two tough games coming up. We could lose both, which makes this loss very disappointing.

After all the years of watching the team get robbed by the feral crowds in Adelaide influencing the umpires you would think I am immune to the rubbish and humiliation I have witnessed.

NO I AM NOT. ??

I’d just like the AFL world to acknowledge that Clarry is the best in the business. Beat his career best for contested possessions, 27. Way more than anyone else on the park tonight

Was a great game pity we had to lose ?

Pretty much sums it up. Crows played really well and they are not the crap team of the first few weeks.

But gee that non-deliberate in the last 40sec was a howler but he umpires after the one from spargo, hopefully its raised by the club for "clarification" for future games.

Fritta's non-goal just summed up a [censored] day at the office.

People will want the Weid dropped but for me Fritsch should be the one to make way. He's been poor since the North game and that selfish individual act goes against the whole ethos of selflessness we've been hearing about all season. Very disappointing for mine

Got to drop the umpire responsible when they make such poor decisions favouring the home side in the end of the game. 3 times this year the umps have decided the game with howlers. They have to send a message otherwise it never ends.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
