Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Don't sack Bucks yet wait till after the Queens Birthday game. Cannot remember a coach being sacked after playing Melbourne. Have we ever been a coach killer besides our own coach, been plenty of those.

Plus the strange but always true law of inverse coaches that dictates clubs rebound in the first couple of games after a new coach has been appointed. Its similiar to the strange reversal in form of players who come up against the club that gave them the flick. Oh the mysteries of Australian rules footy. Ps I do hope the wheels fall off after Queenies party game which will reveal the 100 point thumping by us that we have been waiting for.

Always amuses me how clubs feel the need to have board spills, sack coaches etc when they reach the end of their "window"

The player list is old and on the decline. Why the panic?

Anyone got a link to their constitution? It would seem they have scrubbed it from their website and the only one I’ve been able to find via a quick google search is from 2010...and mentions board limits which is...a myth?

Eddie on Footy Classified tonight said " that there was no board vote in his 23 years as President."

It was said answering a question about the new Pies board member, who is ineligible to vote until after the next AGM.

If Eddie was serious, he has just admitted that the Pies were run without board input, or at least voting on issues.

With the rules and legal ramifications on Directorships and Companies that is a staggering admission.

I can't imagine any other President of an AFL football club, or any Chairman of a Company for that matter, admitting that.

Collingwood will not sack, Buckley, that's why they appointed this new president so Eddie can pull his strings, bucks to get another 2 years will be signed after the next win

I’m a little worried about QB this year, after all it’s going to be their Grand Final. ?

Let's get this quote right and we'll put it in ' Mick Malthouse "dummy" speak.

"Collingwood seem to consider this game as their Grand Final "

No one at Collingwood ever told Malthouse that Melbourne and Collingwood had played each other in 7 real Grand Finals ( ie in September )and that Melbourne had one 6 of those 7.

But why spoil it when your speaking to your average dull Collingwood fan ??

And now Joffa accused as being a rockspider (having sex with a 14 year old boy). It is definitely Collingwood's turn to rot away in the doldrums:

According to The Âge:

Shocking to hear, he is regarded as some sort of clap happy evangelical leader by the Collingwood faithful.

McGuire is one of the most self focused people in football and trades on the old school, boys club network of 'mates' to have his back and in return he has theirs.

All well and good. Except when a president of a football club

If you want to get an understanding of how he operates check this clip out:

https://wwos.nine.com.au/afl/matthew-lloyd-fumes-over-mark-maclure-claims-reagarding-carlton-coaches/5eac0ec8-9933-4660-8a32-b2f909eab364

Despite the fact that Lloydd is beyond upset AND IS A COLLEAGUE of McGuire (on the show eddie hosts), McGuire all but dismisses his concerns.

He also tries to put the whole to thing to bed a couple of times by stating how great it is that McClure (who he calls a great bloke) has apologized. All nothing to see here, Sellar's a great bloke, let's move on

And he blurts out that he called McClure right before the show to check it out what happened. I'll bet he didn't check with lloyd before doing so (Lloyd said he called McClure immediately after the 360 aired). Then defends him by saying he got his wires crossed and it was Sam McClure who supposedly made the comments in question. Which actually makes it less defensible, not more (ie he attributed the comments to Lloyd and implied his brother leaked him information)!

And he tries to wrap it up by, predictably making it about Collingwood and the supposedly false rumors Buckley has lost the players. Classic Eddie deflection.

Tone deaf and utterly pathetic.

The clip end with a clearly seething Lloyd responding to Eddie's deflection with 'i know he's your mate eddie' but it is not on.

if i was Lloyd i would be just as angry with McGuire.

Surely the Pies can't let McGuire get back into the club via his mate, Brown. He is poison.

On the above, one can only imagine how the pre show phone call between McGuire and McClure went:

McGuire: Sellers, mate, WTF? I've got a show to run here and our resident princess is all worked up and in tiz about you and what you bloody said on that joke of a show you are on - football from all angles, there are no bloody angles in a 360 degree circle!

McClure: yeah, i know, the bloody snowflake called me and was practically in tears. Look to be honest, i actually can't really remember who said what, i'd had a couple of bevvies with Robbo pre show, well more than couple if truth be told and of course they wanted to talk about how pathetic the blues are. I watched your rubbish show with all your suits and i was sure 'Matty' said something about the coaches

McGuire: Sellars, mate, it was that private school [censored] everyone thinks is your son, you peanut

McClure: my son? who? Oh, you mean little Sammy boy. My son? Would have disowned him in primary school. Actually, now you mention it, it was him. Can't really recall what he said though

McGuire: Jesus H Christ, Sellers, don't you think i have enough on my plate getting Browny in as Pres of the pies and all that [censored]? Alright mate, leave it with me, i'll sort it. I'll calm the princess down

McClure: thanks mate. Lets catch up on the weekend for a beer.

Am I reading this right?

1. Eddie is forced to resign by the Collingwood Board after the findings of systemic racism and the list management debacle.

2. Eddie's mate (Brown) is seeking to overthrow the Collingwood Board under the guise of the systemic racism findings and the list management debacle but it really is just pay pack for the Board members being disloyal to Eddie.

3. Eddie is behind the whole thing.

Where is the media calling this out?

EM: I'm about to go on TV and ... what did you just say?
MM: .... huh? I said G'day
EM: After that
MM: .... I said "Eddie"
EM: Aren't you forgetting something?
MM: Oh! Right. Sorry. Good evening, Mr McGuire
EM: You've put me in the sh*t again. By my count that's twice now. You're close to going on my enemies list, you know what that means. I won't say you're a mate of mine on TV!
MM: Please Mr McGuire, not that. What did I do?
EM: Lloyd. You got him all riled up and he's trying to make a fool of me on national TV.
MM: Did I? I mean, I apologise for my crass mistake. What do you want me to do, Mr McGuire?
EM: He's never loved me. I realise that now. Do? Run everything by me first, you fool. Why do I have to think of everything? Remember which one of us nearly won a gold Logie.
MM: Can I still tell people you're a mate of mine?
EM: No. You can tell people you speak to me. But I'll still say you're a mate of mine. Only on TV, mind. Now get out of my sight.
MM: But ... we're not ... yes, Mr McGuire. Sorry, Mr Mc--
EM: (hangs up)

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
