Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The Significance of 9 Wins in a Row

One Flag and I am cured of MFCSS . The MFC army IS mustering after a long furlough . The members was packed . As the season goes on more will join and other teams supporters will jump on for the finals . We are 4 games ahead of Richmond in 8th . Pinching myself so often to make sure I am not dreaming that I am red and blue on the outside .

Looking at the season from afar and if all lists are healthy coming into september.TO me it's a race out of 5 teams this year

Dees,dogs,port, tigers and cats

Just all comes down to the top 4 and where everyone plays

Anyone can knock anyone off on the day ATM but if the interstate teams don't make the top 4 it's going to be tough for them

The only real smokey at the g is the Swans it suits there game but I think the kids will run out of legs in a long season

Just hope like hell we keep doing what where doing

go demons

The only significance of 9 wins in a row is that it is one more than 8 wins in a row.

One week at a time. First make the eight, then the four, then the two.

Have been through too many false projections.

Sadly I agree with you tiers however I do enjoy 9 zero more than any other result at this point. And we still haven’t beaten anyone above us!

We need to finish top 2 to give us the best chance of winning the flag.  This season it is likely that 16 wins will secure top 2.  As such the only significance of our 9 - 0 start is that we now required just 7 wins from the last 13 games to achieve this.

I've always had the view that it's not a bad thing if you’re not playing your best football this time of year.  I just worry that we've peaked too early.

I don't think we've peaked at all.  Working out what is our optimal forward set-up is very much work-in-progress.

Just taking it one game at a time, no point in stressing ahead of time, enjoying the serenity of it all and we still haven’t played our best Footy yet. Each win puts us that much closer to Finals footy and how we all loved 2018 and we are now a better team. 2021 roll on and on.!!!!

Go Dee’s...!!!!

was intending to go on Saturday but the weather and drive put me off.

Bulldogs is a real possibility.

Would love a game at Preston/Windy Hill/Coburg or Port.

Seems that the VFL draw pits the AFL related teams against each other.

The streak is challenging for mental state. Increasingly I've found myself going to the footy hoping not to lose rather than to win. Makes it slightly less enjoyable when we do inevitably grind out our predictable 4-5 goal win.

Such strange times! Loving it though, can't wait to see how we go in the Bulldogs game. Every chance they get roadblocked by our impenetrable defensive walls and our big boys turn on up the offensive hurt factor.

we keep saying this but starting to wonder if they can improve greatly.

You don't improve forward delivery overnight for example.

Goals v Behinds is 50% luck... just ask Dusty

The fringe players are contributing well

Probably LJ has the greatest upside

Sure there is scope for improvement but not sure it will come.

Of course our present standard has been good enough so far

I think there is a case to be made, OD, that we have beaten everyone above us ...

just noticed we have a VFL game against the Swans on Sunday at 1pm at Casey.

Assuming the sub and the emergency are back from Adelaide it could be a strong Casey side.

Sunday weather looking not too bad.. 18 fine and a medium breeze

Sadly Casey is the other end of the earth from me in the north west DJ. Hopefully that game is on tv.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
