I wrote in one another thread a few weeks back to watch this space. Very good chance Lipinski will be at the Dees in 2021.

Having a talented list and performing strongly should make us an appealing destination for both young players wanting to return to Victoria and older players seeking a flag before retirement. On the latter, I wonder if we could convince Ziebell to come across at below market rates. He's a free agent I would suspect North might be happy to accept a 2nd round compensation pick (around pick 20) for a 30yr old that won't feature in their next finals team.

Biggest issue be retaining who we’ve got. Spent plenty keeping pies away from Trac. 
Develop our own and astute drafting.  If someone falls into our lap for unders, so be it.

I'm just bumping this comment so everyone can see it in all it's glory for a second time. A thing of beauty. It has everything, complete unknown quantity, has never played a game, history of long term leg troubles, coming from a mid ranged club, 20 years old, comparison to a club champ. I like Kane Farrell from Port. Gettable. Good kick, classy user. Don’t know if he’d transition to a wingman, but he’d add something different to our side regardless. Would be a best 22 player.

Heard some rumours Brayden Maynard might be unhappy at the Pies. I hope we are into him. Would be a great lockdown defender, super competitive and excellent kick. No idea on contract status though.

A quick google says Maynard will be a free agent at the end of 2022. Would Collingwood consider trading him a year early?

Ed Richards and Lipinski are also worth a look IMO.

Know it's not exactly a player trade target, but could we be aggressive to move into the top 10 of the draft this year? Perhaps trade a 2nd rounder and a future 1st and target the best available outside midfielder?

And again, Maynard's inclusion would allow us to release Rivers to a wing or into a genuine mid role.

We should be doing this every year, so that if possible, we're bringing in top end talent and giving Jason Taylor a look in the first round every year.

Disagree it should be about necessarily targeting an outside mid. I think it should almost always be a case of picking best available.

I had no inside knowledge but have been pushing this for a while now.

Pies will need to get in a good draft position and Maynard is one of the few chips they have.

He would be perfect fit in our defence.
