Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Look at the ladder... No# 1 team in the comp Vs No# 13 team in the comp... should be a clear win to the No# 1 team, as it usually is.

The weird thing, is that we're the No# 1 Team...

50+

Go Demons

The line with the bookies is instructive. +24.5 Carlton 1.90.

$3.00 MFC at -38.5

$7 for -60.5....

$4 for -47.5

A drunk Sydney supporter also yelled this out after the siren went at the G on Saturday night.

I don't get it. How can you be lucky to win a game of footy when you're leading for 85% of the game.

Sydney was not prepared to attack the game, they used too many tags, not many teams are brave enough to take us on, teams don't know who to tag, tag tracc and Oliver will run amok, tag Oliver and tracc has a game like he did against Richmond, if Carlton try a shoot out we will blitz them, not many team's can score over  a hundred points and keep the opposition to under 70 points, we are 1 of those teams.

Sydney, but it is interesting to notice that in my mind when I'm on Demonland I am back in Melbourne. Mentally, for me, this conversation is taking place in Melbourne.

Talk about virtual communities - there's a Ph.D in this.

Cairns is strictly metaphorical.  As in, "I hope this club never makes a trip like that again."

It wasn’t analysis, it was supporter bluster. I don’t mind buying in to the banter every now and again.

We should still have their measure, but of course we’re beatable and they’re good enough if they bring it. No point letting them read that though ?

Love it, Nasher. We deserve to be able to rip the lid off now and then.

Doesn't kick goals. In fact he freezes like a deer in headlights when taking a set shot. It's embarrassing.

His best work is the clearance from a lightning fast handball. Not the laser kick to a leading forward that gets everyone's attention.

He was the perfect pickup for us because he filled a hole in the center with rare skills. Would take him over just about anyone else in the comp, Trac included.

High up in coaches’ award.
Goodwin’s votes aside, guess the other eight know footy

I'm worried to the extent I'm worried about every game.

If we turn up like the 1st half vs North we will lose.

If we bring the defensive structure and system we've applied most of the year we will strangle them. Still yet to concede more than 73 points in a game.

"I think we can beat Melbourne, more on the law of averages, they are due for a loss and just fell in for a win vs the Swans IMO.
Brown and McDonald wont present the same problems as Bruce and Naughton plus Oliver is only half the player the Bont is and Cripps owes us a big one. Blues by 16 points, not because we are great but more because Melbourne are getting ahead of themselves, due for a loss and we can defend them better IMO"

Even their Forums are pathetic!!

We beat Richmond and Sydney in the rain. I reckon our guys love it now when it rains. They've said as much in the press.

Previously, 2018 MFC would wilt in the rain, but 2021 MFC doesn't.

Agree to a certain extent. Just don’t think that it helps tall forwards and we have a few of ‘em. He might have had an off day but Kozzie looked like he was playing on ice against Sydney.

There's a reason why the best teams tend to at, or near, the top in terms of least scores against. It's because strong defence is far more consistent than strong offense. Defences are systematic, so a good team can rely on their defence even when they aren't playing well. The best offenses can blow teams off the park in a matter of minutes, but it's much harder to rely on attacking brilliance, especially when the pressure of finals steps up.

I think we win this comfortably because Carlton hasn't demonstrated the ability to defend well when they aren't playing well. They can stay with us for long periods of time, as most teams will, but they've gone to water defensively for periods in each game they've played and let through multiple consecutive goals. Given that we are unlikely to do that, we will probably win by the number of goals that we kick when Carlton have their defensive lapse. But footy can be a funny game sometimes.

Very good point re bont.  Interesting libba also only kicks a goal every 3rd game and more handballs than kicks.

But clarry is way more handsome.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
