Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Roos got what he came for and that was the $$. This whole notion of the club wouldn't be here without him is actually laughable.

100% with you Dazzle, i'm eating Humble pie for calling for Goodwin to be replaced, the players very clearly believe in him, and he's got these genuine guns of the comp to take less money and commit long term. and if the reports are true he's got us firmly in the mix for Z. Merrett as well.

Just an FYI, the same person who told me Trac was in talks for an extension (admittedly he got the period wrong) did also say Luke Jackson will be signing on as well until the end of 2024. so fingers crossed for that one.

Many of us weren’t aware that goodwindees is a “solid source”. I was one who responded to his original post with “and you know this how?” because I had no clue as to his reliability. Having had many false prophets on this site, I think the response was reasonable (albeit a little on the harsh side...could have chosen a better adjective).

Are you posting the word “Good” for no apparent reason every 10 or so minutes, or am I just imagining it?

Quite possibly I’m imagining it. Been up since 5:30am. That, coupled with the whole Fritta sitch, and the fact that I’m easily confused, makes a compelling argument for me to go to sleep.

No. I was simply saying it was good that:

We decided to appeal fritters suspension

Trac signed for 6 years

Fritter won the appeal.

All good.

Got nothing on Weid unfortunately. i'll ask and see if i can dig up anything but it's all quiet, which makes sense, his value has the potential to sky rocket this season.

I do see where the club is coming from though in wanting to see him play well consistently for a block of games before bringing him in, but also get why he'd be getting a bit frustrated.

I'd be pretty shocked if he's not in the team in the next couple of weeks, and then signs on at some stage.

The money Roos got from us was well spent. I shudder to think where we would be if he hadn’t come across.
Maybe you don’t remember 2012-13 so well.

The Weid will get games, but for his own sake, he has to earn them and then keep his spot

Collingwood will want a bigger fish than Weideman. They didn’t clear all that cap for someone that has only shown a bit.

Someone like Ben King (contracted until 2022) would be more what they’re after. And replacing an aging midfield.

Going to go out on a limb and say @demonstonecares about spelling and grammar, at all times.

Great news about Trac, although I’m looking forward to it hearing it from the club and not notorious “news breakers” (bottom feeders), Browne and Morris

It was stated on MMM over the weekend that despite clearing the three players at the end of last season, Collingwood's salary cap is still extremely tight and a real mess. They will not have the room to chase a highly paid recruit.

They're not exactly a destination club at the moment either. (How the wheel turns.)

But they also have no draft capital to work with - hard to see how they do much this offseason.

Can't believe people are still buying the BS that Collingwood cleared cap space to target a big name free agent.

They cleared cap space because they paid too many blokes huge money on long term contracts, not to mention the Beams debacle. Sure, they were shooting for a flag and nearly got there. But last year's clear out was fixing a god awful mess, not clearing space for a good player.

I don't understand your question.  To try and assist you, the figure of $900 k came from Ch7 report.

I'm just telling you that it is significantly more than that.

Adonski, you are one of about 5 other Posters that displayed some level of doubt about my original post along with HardTack, Rod Grinter Squad, CHF and Robbie57.

I never quite understand why other Posters express that type of doubt/negativity.  Is it envy or a feeling of inadequacy that some posters just have NO level of inside contacts?

Get over yourself hahaha

The Pies obviously need to find a key forward but their mids are even more of a priority with both Pendles and Sidebottom close to the end. They will leave a huge hole. Think someone like Treloar would be perfect for them.

Its not just draft picks though.

They will go into deficit having to pay a huge price for Daicos this year. But they have a list of around 40 players who they have shown they are willing to trade.

They will likely be going into a mini rebuild by years end. They will be moving more players on.

What a horrible season we are having....

It’s great to see he club looking like having some one club career players. We haven’t seen this since the Daniher days and you can see how close those players are still and passionate about the club.

I'm definitely not having a crack at Paddy, but here's a photo of seemingly two young blokes with the world at their feet. And yet by the hand of fate one is about to hopefully hit paydirt tomorrow, and the other has just put another hurdle in front of his luckless life.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
