Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

To be fair, my shoelace is also too good for this level of game. Norf are horrible. Just horrible.

Have 13 or 14 players on their injury list ATM so I imagine they struggled to even field a side.

Harmes is extremely overrated on demonland.

Had one good year in 2018 playing as a stopper but he makes far far too many mistakes. Fumbles, miakicks and handballs and tries to take everyone on.

Even before his injury, he had a really underwhelming start to the year.

Likes his instagram account a bit too much imo.

Sparrow looked 10x better which is a bit concerning for Harmes

Kind of agree with this. Been seven years on the list and was great in late 2018 but nothing much else. It's a nice story growing up a Melbourne supporter but it beggars belief why he was given a five-year deal.

Only saw bits and pieces of the game but, at least to me, Sam Weideman just seems to lack intensity and the ability to get involved.

Wow , gee you wonder how nth are going to get better when there 2nd's team gets belted by 107 points.

So is Daw injured or did they rest him in the last half?

Yeah I hope weidermna sticks around? What's his contract situation? Unfortunately tommy is probably the one keeping him out by playing great footy at them moment. But at least when Sam does come in he will be full of ocnfidence.

Sparrow was fantastic as was Weideman. He needs to come in next week.

Harmes was honestly average for me. I see nothing that suggest he'll add much to our side anytime soon. I get more satisfaction in James Jordon and Sparrow at AFL level now that I do with Harmes.

Chandler and Bedford were buzzing around the half forward and their work rate was huge.

Jake Bowey has a serious serious kick on him.

Yes the 5 year deal for an average player who had 1 really good year was crazy.  Collingwood showed what happens when you overpay players.

North being so poor made it almost impossible to know what to take out of that match.  My conclusions:

-  nobody smashed the door down tonight;

-  Casey played the Melbourne way, which is a very good sign

Nah Mono, he was quite good the whole match. Took 10 marks and smashed several packs... hit them hard. Kid had a really good game regardless of the quality of opposition. He looks a different player to last year.

While im at it, i thought Chandler showed some real silk as well. Rosman has a gigantic tank and looks a perfect prospect for a wing. I thought the hype was OTT, but he actually did very well for a young bloke with so little experience.

P.S. despite what the commentators said, i thought Sparrow had a much better game than Harmes, and the Beanpole Bradke gave it his all and wasnt useless. Majak early was right on top in the guts too.

Easy to look good in a 107 point win, but this is what we should be dong to keep pressure on the senior players.

Nah he was very good. Worked hard and competed well in the air. Really should’ve had six or seven. A couple of simple ones missed by his standard. He’s putting priceless pressure on T Mac to maintain his current form.

Jake Bowey will be a really good player. Very similar to Christian Salem. Rosman shows promise. Doesn't know how to weaponize his exceptional endurance at the moment.

Sparrow was very composed, the connection with Weids was great, showed some lovely field passes, needs to nail those snaps for goal.

Weids is leading well, taking marks and making his way up the ground. Seemed to get distracted within his thoughts of a play that just happened and then switched off.

Good that Jetts was given some time as a negating mid. Still has plenty to offer.

Bowey takes a while to get into the game, but then shines. What a good kick he has.

Unsure about Harmes, had a great 3rd quarter. Seemed lost in the first half, shouldn't happen at that level.

Chandler can play!

Majak can mark, gets to the right place, can crash a pack and rucks well.

Bedford works hard, has confidence and speed.

Rosman did some lovely passes.

D. Smith needs a bit more time.

Bradke has improved,  needs a bit more muscle development.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
