Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I'm a Trident member coming from Brisbane for the Richmond game. I am bringing a friend who I'm trying to convert. Is there anyway I can get her in the reserve area as well? I don't want to risk waiting for general admission as everything is booked. I notice the club is still saying you can get a guest pass on the membership page, but this isn't that case.

Please help!!

Hard to complain given we've got to be one of the few countries who are able to attend such crowded events, mask free etc.

But jeez it's an absolute pain booking a desired seat in the hope of sitting with family/friends as an MCC member. Only two visitors tickets per member and you can't select seats, only bays.

Happy to get them but feel for those who want to go with their family.

It looks like 'everything is booked' because sales haven't opened yet.

Melbourne members get first choice.  From club website: https://www.melbournefc.com.au/member-ticketing/r6

Tickets will be available for redemption to member categories at the below times on Tuesday, 20 April:

  • Priority 1 – Level 2 Premium Reserved Seat Members – from 1pm
  • Priority 2 – Level 1 Reserved Seat Members – from 3pm
  • Priority 3 – General Admission Members – from 5pm

Ticket redemptions will close from 9am-1pm Wednesday 21 April before re-opening to all members and public.

Also option to buy 3 game Blockbuster Membership which may enable a Priority 1 booking.  Check the club.

NOT A MEMBER? SIGN UP NOW FOR A BLOCKBUSTER MEMBERSHIP AND BE THERE FOR ANZAC DAY EVE - PLUS OUR HUGE CLASHES WITH CARLTON AND COLLINGWOOD.

Cost of this membership is somewhat more than a ticket/reserved seat for ANZAC Eve game but might still be worth it.

If ever there is a year where the Anzac Eve crowd tops Anzac Day this has to be it.

We got close in 2017 with 85657 as opposed to 87865. It will come down to the State Govt and whether or not they increase capacity.

14th v 16th on Sunday arvo or 2nd v 5th on Saturday night? No brainer.

Surely its back to 100% this week? What is the point of reduced crowds when they just shut off the top level and herd everyone in close together anyway? Utterly pointless.

Couldnt agree more - so many empty seats at the G yesterday and we are all crammed in like sardines in a few bays, I thought how ridiculous

Quick question, P10-14 or N1-4? Thoughts?

This isn't relevant for the Richmond game, more for the seats when things go back to normal. I enjoyed N13 for the Geelong and Free game.

I prefer N tier to P tier.  See all the oval and closer to the play.

They're all good. Although, I was sitting in P14 yesterday and there are speaker boxes hanging from the stands that obstruct viewing to both scoreboard displays which was a bit frustrating when reviewing replays. We moved after half time to seats around P10, the view was better. (just to get some space, agree with the packed in comments which is just crazy)

If they go back to 100% capacity I wonder if we can use our membership cards and sit in our usual seat without having to go through any tickitek rubbish ?

Must be the ageing  process LH but I have no idea what all the above means, thank God I will be watching on replay at home in my lounge. I have a big 70th birthday of a close friend to attend on Saturday night.

Might just be my pessimism about the AFL but I reckon it will apply from Sunday’s MCG game.

There was an article in the HS today that suggests that this will be the case. It seems as though this is a bigger factor in lower crowd sizes, than any capacity issues.

Leaving the finances aside for a moment, as we seem to have a finite membership base and have first dibs at buying tickets wouldn't a 75% attendance limit on Saturday night just prevent 25,000 Richmond members from getting into the ground ?

100% attendance is a big issue for the MFC.

Club makes very little additional revenue from member attendance. We make it from Tiger followers paying for entry.

The limits on the formal Anzac ceremonies means that it's not a good look to move to 100% this weekend.

My guess is 85% capacity... a lovely compromise based on "zoning."

Hi DJ. I was thinking along the lines of all of the Richmond fans that attend are likely to be season ticket holders and therefore of no financial gain to us anyway. Better to keep them out of the ground and have a higher ratio of our fans in attendance on the night.

If a person has home and away membership I wonder whether the member's club pays the home club for attendance?

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
