Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

GAMEDAY: Rd 03 vs GWS

If both teams turn up to play I reckon it’s a 50/50 proposition. If our attitude is off we lose. If we’re switched on from the get-go and GWS dish up more of the same, we’ll win handily.

It all depends on the mindset of both teams.

It looks like the GWS players have stopped listening to Cameron. Their showing last week was truly pathetic. I think they’ll give a yelp in the first quarter so we need to weather the early storm. We can’t allow them to get the jump on us. If we shackle them early, impose ourselves and apply scoreboard pressure I reckon they will fold.

Win or lose I expect to see two way running, ferocious tackling and second and third defensive efforts. If we are finally as mature as we reckon we are then attitude and defensive efforts are non-negotiable.

What’s on the smoker Josh?

Come on Dees, this is a real opportunity for us to put a marker in the season and in this generation of players and coach Goodwin. Win and we’re sitting well very early doors, lose and it’s back to the pack and a lost chance.

  • Demonland changed the title to GAMEDAY: Rd 03 vs GWS

MFCSS has already sunk in for me..

Looking at the likes of Essendon and Sydney win against much better opposition has me thinking it's going to be that kind of round and GWS could notch their first win.

You look like you're dealing with with some severe MFCSS Big Fez. The Dees winning games is the only known cure!

Well, I am off to bed. The game starts at 10.10 tomorrow morning my time. So at halftime I put on the leg of lamb and it will be good timing to have lunch and a glass or seven of a Tuscan red to celebrate the win.

6 goal win.

The longer the weeks gone the less confident I've become. Will this be a new Melbourne or will we revert to type and lose the game we should win?  Very interested to see how we follow up last week's game (which suddenly doesn't look as impressive as it did a week ago).

Like every week it's all about which Melbourne turns up. It would be great to put this one to bed early and not give them a sniff in the later stages of the game, just for a change.

I'm confident we'll get the job done against GWS. While we're not playing perfectly after two rounds against middle of the road opposition we've been able to get the job done. In terms of form we are yet to capitalise on alot of the good fundamental  stuff we are doing, while GWS just looks like a mess with no apparent workrate and system. The best I think they will bring will be effort and some improvement to their system which as long as we turn up and keep improving won't be enough against us. Dees by 30 points.

How many points do we need to win by to go ahead of the Swans?

Live ladder says 17 I thought it would be about 50

Any thoughts?

BTW the team must capitalize on early shots we must have significant score board pressure

They have to be hungry for some success.

Bring the pressure.

All our lines are good, May and lever, Viney and Oliver, Kossie and Tom.

It has been a while since I could say that.

No more words, time for action.

First to the ball, clean use and minimise the unforced errors.

Go Dees.

Or what?

So many definitives.

They've already proven that they can kick copious amounts of points and still win... yep that's right, like all good teams, we can play poorly and still win

If the 'must's are about helping you relax during the game, then that's fair enough.

Myself and Moonshadow took a roadtrip to Cantberra a few years ago to watch the Dees take on GWS.

It was a day where brass monkeys were looking for welders and a howling cold wind rendered one half of the oval totally dead. We had no idea of handling the conditions and were outplayed and ultimately flogged.

My only entertainment was watching Moonie get [censored] that night.

Anyway that's history!

We are two zip and actually looking a capable football team. No doubt GWS will come at us hard so it will be a good test, however, if we are serious finals contenders then we simply must win it.

Dees by 4 goals!

I've organised Special Robert to be at your place by 9 for the road trip.

He has packed a lunch for you and insists on the front seat in the Merc.

A civilised game time for us CHF. Enjoy your roast. I will have a perfect baguette from our artisan boulanger, with some exceptional cheese and a glass of Pecharmant to accompany a Demon win. Cheers.

The list should be just about at the maturity where a higher level of consistency week to week materialises. With Hibberd, Melksham, Brown and the Weid waiting in the wings this should keep the team incumbents on their collective toes.

Like many on here, I'm very anxious.  GWS look lost.  They are.  We should win based on form but that has proven to be a false line of thought this round.    We need to win.  The idea of us being 3-0 is dreamlike.  I want us to just start winning.  Week in week out more or less.  No more [censored].  No more nervousness.  Bring it on.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P
