Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I was referring to the kangas. Collingwood are still a dangerous team and no easy beats.

Ah right.  Missed the thread sequence sorry

A decent game this between the Crows and the Suns. Both teams have improved a lot. Adelaide will be tough to beat when we play them over there.

Both teams are ‘full effort’ sides much more so than they have been in recent seasons

Still reckon they will both by bottom six at the end of the year tho

GC are close to being a very good side, but they keep getting serious injuries

Suns are young and brittle. Crows too reliant on a resurgent Texan.
Both teams can’t sustain it for 4 quarters vs good teams.
We should have the measure of both.

”should...” I know.

What was the deal with us and Ben King again?  He's one amazing prospect and delivering the goods a fair chunk of the time.  Lovely kick also

I thaught that was a dreadful game. Neither side knew how to properly attack with the ball ( especially GC ). Adelaide were able to run off the poor decision making by GC when going forward and capitilise with their disorganised defence.

Ouch, I just opened the AFL app to see what happened. This could be the beginning of the end for North if they aren’t careful.

They’ve almost certainly lost the Good Friday game for next year, they will be a terrible team for at least the next couple of years and after pushing so hard for it you can’t put up such an insipid performance.

We’ve been there, it really sucks.

They'll keep good Friday if they get a crowd (& TV), the score isn't as important. but like when people were talking about taking Queens birthday off us, we always got a good crowd even when crap.

There is also the another game on the same day now, so it is not the only focus, which will help them retain it.

In saying all that, a crowd of 28k is not good for a public holiday Friday.

I just want to say that Collingwood should be ashamed of themselves.  More than usual, that is.  61 Hitouts to 4.  24 to advantage vs 1.  With that sort of dominance out of the middle they should have been all over Brisbane, but they barely won the clearances and they utterly failed to capitalise on them.

Its the same Suns just a slightly improved one.  They come out of the blocks looking pretty decent and fresh early but in the end they're mostly a meat & potatoes club with a sprinkling of talent.  The bulk just aren't up to the contest even against the mediocre teams.

Good effort but in the end they lose too many crucial one on ones, especially through the middle, while continuing to bomb it long to the same spots about 30 to 40 out from goal making it too easy for the opp to defend inside 50.

Over a decade of plowing millions of dollars in to this mob and they still haven't won a match in Adelaide.  What a rediculous waste of resourcez and time by Gil & Co.  Would rather see a Tassie team in any day for GWS & GC.  Tassie Govt should follow through with their threat to cancel the Hawks & North arrangement if the AFL doesn't come to the party and do us all a favour.

their first win was in adelaide - at footy park

they've never won at adelaide oval

Suns are still a bit too reliant on their older/reject players like Greenwood, Ellis, Witts, Harbrow, etc.

Their midfield still needs work and depth and they need to wait two or three years for King and Lukosius to come on. Dew is doing a good job with them though.

I am not sure who the main commentator for the adelaide/suns clash is ( maybe that Dwayne Russell type ) but every time that blinking Walker goes near the ball he has absolute multiples. He is worse than Mcevany.

They used to destroy us when we were a basket case.  Didnt they beat us by 130  something points around 2012?   Their supporters loved it, openly mocked us.

Hope they're even worse than what they have shown today the next decade.  Thought they will be in Tassie long before that could happen.

Round 18 2013, 122 points, same venue.

And didn't they win a ridiculous number of games against us in a row?  Something like 18?  One of the last "hoodoos" we had to break was beating them.

North can suffer in their jocks as far as I'm concerned.

I will say that towards us North fans had a ridiculous amount of arrogance for a team that has achieved exactly nothing in the last 20 years.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
