Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Don’t all those explanations apply equally to the two matches on Thursday and Friday that were full capacity?   Those supporters face the same transport system, COVID risk, ticketing system, etc.

Of course it was never going to be full capacity at our game with one inter-state team

Yes I agree all supporters face the same issues. But not all club supporters are the same and don't deal with these issues the same way. Thursday and Friday were also night games. Perhaps people were able to go because of no work/sport commitments. I know people who cannot attend on a Saturday afternoon because of their children's sport.

Having said that it is also true a Fremantle game at the G has never drawn a big crowd. I have been to many of them, and the crowd today looked about average. Fremantle are not an inspiring team. The Eagles have many more fans here.

Anyway, I still enjoyed the game and the atmosphere was loud where I was sitting and I caught up with other supporters I haven't seen since 2019, so I thought it was a success. Especially when the Grand Old Flag was played at the end.?

No fear of the dreaded bathwater after that performance.

Big ups to Jordon, Spargo and Tomlinson. Played their role.

Someone needs to stop trying to be a hero and play team footy.

Set-shots are p*ss poor. It’ll cost us.

Lever and May immense.

We have to raise our game for the saints.

Go Dees.

James Jordan had a wonderful game for his debut. A team player, he knows how to kick a goal, and the way the players got around him must have boosted his confidence even more. One to watch. Well done JJ. ?

Disagree. an in the back given against hunt that was never a free. I'll have to watch the game back for more examples but definitely some poor decisions.

I think it’s the ticketing system. Members can’t sit with non-members, plus it’s an [censored] of a process to go through. Almost stopped me. Also, it doesn’t help that a lot have not been and will take a while to get in the habit. Hopefully will improve.

I get some of the difficulties but Jesus Christ today was a day for the supporters of the club to make a statement. They keep wanting the club and team to make a statement they need to do it themselves. When they showed the 21k figure on scoreboard I was embarrassed. We want the AFL to treat us with respect (eg not shunt us off to Cairns for 2 games in 5 days making us fly up the same day as our game) we need to earn not just by results onfield but by the supporters showing they actually give a damn.

No doubt head office would've been looking at that and rueing the dollars gone begging by agreeing not to switch our game with the Hawks/Bombers.

They made a lot less mistakes than the players and had no bearing on the outcome, thus it was fine

That may be true but still reckon umpiring was ordinary

Let's agree to disagree.

These are the 2 I think.

A lot of Melbourne supporters are not like other club supporters. They don't just go to the footy for the footy. They go to the footy for the social aspect and they like to sit where they like to sit - be that reserve seat or MCC.

The reserve seats clearly aren't the reserve seats. The MCC absolutely isn't anything like the MCC.

It's not a total excuse, we should've got 30k. But we're a different type of fans to other clubs.

Precious. Supporters complain about the culture of the club - read this post and take a look in the mirror. Pert and Bartlett are pushing [censored] uphill

I counted at least 3 kicks inside 50 today by Spargo that hit a target, leading to a set shot goal.

That is why he's in the team. I like him.

I don;t understand why people give Spargo such a hard time. No one better with ball in hand inside 50. He nailed a tackle on the wing that was a thing of beauty.

This is his year. Lay off him folks.

The aim is to win a flag. On that evidence we are a gazillion miles away from it. So yeah, that’s disappointing.

It’s cool that you’re entirely satisfied with 4 points at home against a half strength Dockers. Others look at the bigger picture.

Yes, the aim is to win a flag but the negativity on here is ridiculous. I am hardly satisfied as a supporter and no one on here who is under 60, is.

Perhaps more support for the players and club will create more positivity, which will create more effort and passion which will create more positivity and so on.

They won, so in a weird way, we won.

Enjoy the win, train hard and smart, keep high standards this week and repeat.

Who knows we may look back on round 1 2021 as the time the Dees won ugly cementing a new era?

Gawn was average. I thought sides had learnt how to negate his rucking but for large parts today they didn’t need to, he just found them on his own. Urgent stoppage practice at Casey this week pls

One of his worst games I've seen him play, good to know we can still win with him playing poorly though

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim
