Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

If it's going to be 50% of capacity, I've half a mind to attend.

*No jokes about only having half a mind, either!.

Lol

i reckon we just let fans watch half the game.

Does this mean we won't have to be kicking out unruly opposition supporters from our members' only section because security haven't done their job properly?

Hope the security staff will be better trained in Covid safe practice.

Hoping you are able to enjoy our season whether on the box or in the flesh as we warm up for hopefully a return to the Finals this year.

i think many of the jig saw pieces are starting to complete the commencement of the puzzle viz. running and youthful youngsters with real talent to solve the soft spots in our Game plan armour and the off field expertise to assist the Senior coach in preparation and most importantly if allowed on game day.

Surely Ticketmaster and Ticketek will waive their booking fees as a gesture of goodwill.

Ticketek LOL, still waiting for a refund for the Queen's Birthday game.

I have a reserved seat on my membership. I should be able to use that seat and get into the game with my membership card instead of having to book through tickitek and pay 5 bucks more for a seat somewhere in noddyland. The whole thing disgusts me.

Sorry dl4e I am not sure how reserved seat holders will be processed.

BUT you will have to purchase a ticket ( for $0.00) wherever you are in the ground ad part of Covid safevplans the AFL and other sporting bodies are required to fo now.

Judy having a reserved seat does not help tracing but a ticket for $0.00 does and you will need to abide by the same rules as all attendees at AFL games.

What  distancing ( if any) that may be applied early in the season is the other key.

This  has happened In the Brisbane games of AFL and last weeks Test  Match in the Gabba Trust members area.

it is quite simple really and protects you as much as the persons in your vicinity.

Also get used to Card Only transactions  St the venues.

Some  D/L ers are going to be far outside their comfort zone I imagine so will be interested to see reactions posted but really it's all for Covid safe Plans and Health  requirements when you Really analyse these changes.

I get the feeling I won't bother going through the process.

Well you won't be going AND Supermarcado I would have thought you would be more Informed  and check the facts.

There  is no $5 charge eith Ticketec or Ticketmaster  for all bookings fir membership ticket holders.

I just wish Sometimes  some D/Lers would get there facts straight before shooting off and creating a reaction  from precious little angels that don't want and can't cope with Civid  like changes!

After the last year 58er my interest has waned considerable in football in total. With the total uncertainty about how the season will unfold I am not jumping out of my  skin about the coming season. I am not being negative  intentionally but I have heard all the things about how we will go in the coming season before but experience has taught me not too over expect  from the MFC.

I received an email from the club today about attending the girls game at Casey.

They state that there will be a limited number of tickets available but nowhere do they list a number.

Does anyone know what the number might be?

I see the email says Melbourne AFLW members get priority.

Is this some separate membership to the usual MFC membership?

Any idea what that means at Casey?

According to Wikipedia the normal capacity is 9-10k

350 seated

The 9-10k was before they built the new facility which probably took a few hundred at least from maximum capacity.

So I guess it to be 5k.. have we ever had a crowd that size for AFLW?

And you have to pay to get in for the first time this year.

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
