Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

We're going to get smashed, then they'll be an overreaction, then in a months time everyone will realise Freo were actually good so it's not that bad a loss.

We can't score against a Longmuir defensive set up and we'll get frustrated, make mistakes and leak goals because that's what we do.

Unless.......

The forward pressure is spicy and dialed right up to start a season

AND

The midfield learn to work together and use the ball smartly.

If we get smashed it won't be an overreaction....

It's solid top 4 or bust next season.

I hope we dominate the saturday fixture it will mean more foxtel games but at least I can go to the games work sundays so that's a bummer.

Massive pressure on the goody and the dees next season.

Imagine if we lose to Freo at the G in Rd1 next season. It would be the beginning of the end for goody imo.

My hope for us to do well next season is the lowest it has been in a number of seasons. I really have bugger all faith in Goodwin.

Perfect time slot for the MFC faithful to see their first game since 2019 (all going well)

We really need to win this game and go 5-1 or 4-2 to start the season if we want to comfortably finish in the top 6.

Our Aprils under Goodwin have been woeful and it feels like we’re always in catch up mode after a poor start.

We need to plan on a big start to the season and stay the entire season above .500 so we don’t have to rely on other sides as per 2017 and 2020.

Not at all. Goody is under pressure but that one game isn't the be all and end all.

Freo are a well-drilled side and we'll have to be good to beat them.

Next year is a win/win situation. We either play finals or Goody gets the sack. I’ll happily take either outcome.

This is just not a very smart post.

If Goody gets the sack next year it means we will have failed.

That puts us back in rebuild territory as you can guarantee players like Oliver, Petracca and Jackson will be looking to move on.

The happy outcome would be for Goody to prove most wrong and turn out to be a master premiership winning coach.

That is unless it's more important for you to be proved right than us getting success.

Why would Jackson jump ship after 2 seasons? Gold Coast failed for years, Lynch and May stuck around. You make it seem as though it's inevitable that all of our top players will leave once the coach gets told to move on, based on what?

Just about sums up my views Ox.

I think Max , May and the leaders on ground will have to get it done.

If its down to game day coaching Longmuir will be more than a match for Simon Goodwin - unless yze has started exerting his influence.

Lynch and May were on big $'s to stay and in the end even that didn't convince them to stay.

Early years they were on the improve but stalled and they moved on.

Jackson only took a short option on his future.

It's pretty obvious that he's looking at how we shape up.

If we head backwards he'll be off quicker than you can say Perth...

As someone who is highly critical of Goodwin I would much prefer to be proven wrong than right.

Will mean an early start at Stomping Ground that day but should see the game end just in time for happy hour at The Tippler. Giddy up!

If you find ANY beer at Stomping Ground that DOESN'T taste like passion fruit, the Dees will beat Freo.

LOL. There's usually a few quality dark ales there PD which is my reason for going there pre-game. They go well with the mussels and frites. You just need to get out before the place is swamped with kids birthday parties. 11.30 am - 1 pm is my sweet spot on a weekend. Then it's either off to the G or to find another drinking hole along the way there.

Hi JD. You'd probably have to visit Moondog Brewery (the down to earth roll-a-door one in Abbotsford and not the circus that they've opened in Preston) to get one of those. They have a bottled passionfruit and coffee porter called Dunbar's Dream. Can't say I've tried it though. It just sounds wrong. Happy for you to be the guinea pig ?

I thought the magical vaccines would fix everything.

Surely the media, big pharma and government haven't been lying to us?   ?

The majority of the population won't get the vaccine until at least the second half of the year. By the first game only hospital staff and emergency workers and perhaps some of the very ederely will have been vaccinated.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
