Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The diminutive small forward showed plenty of promise in his debut season. Expect plenty of excitement ahead from this youngster.

I know many disagree, but I remain underwhelmed by Pickett. Yes, he is young and inexperienced, but he is also too small and light.

The nicest thing that can be said about his 2020 averages of 7.8 disposals, 0.5 goals and 2.5 tackles is that the only way from here is up.

His focus over the pre season needs to be on putting himself in the right positions more often, and getting his body behind the ball rather than reaching for it.

You are not alone but he started in a very strange year. Normally there would have been a number of Casey games for him so was hardly a good year to start. Let's see what 2021 brings.

Plenty to work with here. JT’s move to pick swap with North last year totally vindicated imv.

Lacked composure particularly in front of goal but if he can settle down rather than snatching at chances he’ll be a great player for us. Provides much needed forward pressure as well.

Highlights for me were his goal v north. Crumbed, spun out of tackles evading 2/3 north defenders in close proximity and slotted the goal. His other was the chain of handballs he instigated off half back v the giants resulting in a goal to spargo I think it was.

Really looking forward to seeing his development next year.

I really like what I have seen so far, he is tough and has a spark, the opposition try to flatten him at every opportunity so I guess that shows a bit of respect in a funny sort of way.If he stays out of harms way he will be a real win for our selectors.

Go Kossie.......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our trade with North is looking much more even as they now have pick 11 with free agency compo. This will at least go out a minimum of 1 spot given the Bulldogs academy player likely to be taken at pick 1 or 2.

We've essentially only given up a third rounder that we had no intention of using anyway to get Kozzie and a years development into him.

His first “miss” in footy against WC summed up his year I think. Some magic, some excitement, but couldn’t finish his work. I’m hoping that another pre-season and a years experience will help him to rectify this issue as he got himself into some great opportunities at goal and had some costly misses (certainly not alone there).

Early days.

If Kossie can go up a level  by having a strong preseason that will definitely help the cause. l believe our forward line   will be better with him there in 2021 now that he knows what to expect.

Can bring others into the game with his speed, hardness and tackling. He will improve l have no doubt.

He will dazzle the opposition.

Kevin Bartlett was small and light!

Give him another pre season or two and then judge him!

Even with our gap in this role I did not expect him to sustain a senior spot all year which he did. I actually think he gets to exactly the right spots but rushes his decision making which made him double grab as well as  miss shots. That will go as he adjusts to the pace of the game. In saying that did things that not many can do and with his field kicking would already be in our best 5 with ball in hand.

I love his enthusiasm and his preparedness to run, hand off, run to receive and hand off again.  His second efforts are great considering his inexperience.  Agile as they come

Plenty of signs of a future B grader or above.

Kevin Bartlett ... As L.P. Hartley said in The Go Between "The past is a foreign country. They do things differently there."

All the good midfielders now are taller than John Nicholls was.

I agree that the jury's out at this stage.

As someone who bemoaned the fact that we had 14 players under 6 feet (182cm) on our list and lo and behold we drafter another small, I admit I had reservations about Kossie when we took him.

But he is a small with a difference - he's explosive and he loves to tackle - and if he stays fit and healthy will become a huge asset. Some of you will recall how Carlton kept losing finals in the early 90s and then they drafted Scott Camporeale. Campo wasn't amazingly tough but he was mega quick and one player transformed them into the premiership side of 95.

Kossie is the bit the same with us - his pace ensures that no side can confidently call us slow and while he still needs to assess situations better, his skill level is high and his attitude seems just as high.

And the great thing is that it means Tubby Taylor can stop drafting players who are vertically challenged in the hope of unearthing the next Jeffy Farmer or Aaron Davey - we have him already.

Yeah. I am sure that neither he or the coaching staff could possibly have considered that without the prompt from our esteemed colleague here.
We are indeed fortunate to have such folk here, guiding out players and coaches.
Surprising with such expertise we haven’t won multiple consecutive flags (well, not since the 1950s anyway).

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
