Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Congratulations Wattsy on your career, i still remember all the excitement when we selected you with the No.1 pick like it was yesterday.

The nail in the cofin goal QB 2017 will live long in the memory.

Elite kick for goal and Elite field kicker something to hang your hat on.

Always a Dee.

p .s- Would love to know his accuracy for goal percentage.

Loved the magic you showed.

Some memories and that unforgettable goal - forever my favourite moment of your career.

Hard not to tear up seeing that again.?

All the best.  Thanks for some great memories and your love of the dees.

Take care Jack

I was not surprised he didn’t make it back, that was a very severe leg break.
All the best and I hope he is still welcome at The MFC

It's hard to think of a more polarising player in the modern era, and I'll never forget the 2017 B & F when large sections of the room booed when Jack's departure was mentioned.

My favourite version of the different calls of QB 2017 is from 3AW - Tim Lane nails the drama of the occasion, and I love how you can see and hear the crowd rise in expectation as the ball travels down the southern wing.

Not a surprise

Did he get everything out of his career, no, did he get himself to the right fitness level an afl player needs, probably not but there has never been such a scrutinised number 1 pick before.

I will always be grateful for him kicking the winning goal against the pies on queens birthday. I hope he has a successful future  post retirement.

also thankgod I will never have to put up with another jack Watts thread.

Take care Jack    your career had it's ups and downs but your supporters rode the waves with you. I was one of them.

Your marking and kicking for goals and ball skills  were exquisite . That run on the outer wing against the old enemy QB and the goal that sealed the game will forever be in my memory.

To me you will always be a Melbourne man and one of my favourite players.  ALL the best moving on.

When I saw that injury following the tackle from Dasiy Thomas, I had a feeling it was going to be a long road back for Jack. He'd never dealt with a long term injury, and judging how he recovered from his hamstring in 2017 (which was the harbinger of his demise at the MFC) I questioned whether he had the commitment to get himself 100% right again.

I'll cherish my memories of him in the red & blue. Such a frustrating player, but when he played his role and performed well, it was hard to find a Melbourne person who wasn't pleased for him considering what he had gone through. I really thought after the end of 2016 we were going to see a 250+ game player who was finally living up to some of the expectations, but alas, it wasn't the case.

I wish him all the best in his retirement. I really do hope he returns to Victoria as a Melbourne person, and we'll see him occasionally in the MCC area cheering on his mates.

I remember when half of demonland was up in arms when we shafted Watts to Port Adelaide for nothing.

I was one of a few that maintained that we would not miss Watt and he wouldn't do anything at Port because he is still soft.

it was yet another confirmation of Melb supporters overrating their players

Loved Jack Watts. We all have a friend like him, with that Gatsby-like ability to seemingly float through life regardless of the dramas surrounding. Something tells me that he will move on to the next phase of his life with comparative ease. And if that involves Octoberfest, bloody good luck to him.

Every Melbourne supporter should be thankful for his contribution to our club.

Was he inconsistent?  Yes.

Was he polarising?  Yes.

Did he absolutely love this club like we do?  Yes.

It's a shame things ended the way they did, but I loved it when Jack was up and about.

Thanks for everything, Jack, and good luck in retirement.

Can't you just wish the bloke all the best in his retirement?

Why do you feel the need to pat yourself on the back about your feelings on the trade?

Disgraceful post.  You should be embarrassed.

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim
