Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Regressed?

He's had a slightly down year on his lofty standards but he was still top 5 in a bunch of really key stats for the league as a midfielder, made the AA squad, finished top 10 in the brownlow and proabably was unlucky to not finish higher in our BnF i certainly would have had him a close third behind May.

I think he's totally justified to have found the HUB really hard, i think a lot of players from all teams did, frustrated that a list that should be playing finals has missed for the second year in a row.

I don't have any concerns at all about Clarries attitude, or his work ethic, or what he's delivered on field. he's still incredibly young, has had an amazing first 5 seasons that would be up there with any of the modern day champion players first 5 years.

He's a competitive animal, desperate to win, and i actually think it's a great thing players are annoyed about missing finals, so they should be. no excuses in 2021. if we don't make finals we will be getting a new coach, and losing players. but we have the list, especially with our prospective signings to bounce back strongly. and i'm backing Clarry to use this as fuel. i've made him my early 2021 brownlow tip.

Clarry and Trac are only going to steal votes from each other over the next half-dozen years.

Interesting diversion.

fifty odd years ago the general belief was that it was easier to win a Brownlow at a struggling club because other players in your team did not take votes away from you.

Fast forward to the last ten years and the Brownlow has almost always gone to a player in a finals team.

Wonder what has changed

Talk about burying the lead. Last paragraph of the article.

There are lots of rumours about Clayton Oliver, his management and Melbourne have repeatedly and categorically denied he is going anywhere in the trade period. I will trust them over anything else, even if Carlton is keen - his agent and the Dees simply say it won‘t happen.

Nothing sums of the journo industry like a "Journo" shutting down rumours of a player leaving which  was started by a journalist saying there are rumours player is unhappy. Its actually unbelievable.

His manager has denied it.

Carlton fans were also saying yesterday on that same board that it will soon be released that Crouch will nominate Carlton as his preferred destination.

New minute, nominates St Kilda ?

Betteridge's law of headlines is "if the Headline ends with a question mark, the answer is no."

Footy media has become the snake that eats itself, continually creating stories to report on.

Clarry may be frustrated, but IMO it's up to him to make sure he can continue to improve. Trac can do it, so can he.

This year he’s started to sook it up a bit too much when things haven’t gone his way on the footy field.

Plus he has regressed over the past couple of years (apart from Trac who hasn’t?).

Like I said, he can get bitter or get better. I’d like to see him adopt a more ‘if it has to be then it’s up to me’ attitude, instead of a ‘I cannot be [censored]’ attitude. This team is rife with it at the moment.

Our best is good enough, they just can’t be arsed doing it for 4 quarters game on game. Clarry is definitely in this camp, and will have the biggest impact on team performance if he turns it around.

And don’t think i’m Being harsh on just Clayton, our skipper has lots of soul searching to do as well. That’s what separates good from great.

This post is so far from the truth it’s not funny, haven’t seen much evidence of him sooking it up on field.

He hasn’t regressed, he had a few bad turnovers by foot during the year & the media & some very short sighted supporters have jumped all over him.

l honestly thought he was easily top 3 in the b&f, probably 2

And as for saying he’s got a can’t be [censored] attitude, he in my opinion was busting a gut more than any other player.

He and a precious few have had plenty of players weighing them down

He’s 23yo and has carried the midfield for nearly 4 years

Totally disagree with everything you’ve said

Oliver’s not going anywhere? I’m shocked to be here.

I'm not, it's the silly season and people reading social media quoting it to someone else who than says they have source

Question them and they'll bring up the 1 or 2 darts out of 100 that hit the board

I'm sure some of you understand this much better than me because I'm just watching on TV from o/s, but:

It seems Trac  and Clarrie are happy to pass to each other etc., but about round 15, 16 or 17, I saw Clarrie bend to pick up the pill in congestion near a stoppage and Viney charged and grabbed it. I thought wow it seemed for 1/2 second that Viney selfishly fought Clarrie for the ball!?

I don't know there is a problem and hope there isn't, but if those 2 definitely can't work together, then I really hope we keep Clarrie and let Viney go if one must go.

Hahaha You're very welcome RTG.  No, I wanted normal font of course.  Pasted from iPhone word processor and forgot that that makes it bigger.
There's a way to paste yet end up with normal size font, but I forget it now.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
