Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Outside mids/ball use: Oliver Florent, Liam Duggan, Harry Perryman, Xavier Duursma, Justin Mcinerney, Sam Petrevski-Seton

Would love a josh kelly/karl amon type but that just won't happen

Defenders: Brayden Maynard, Dan Houston, Ed Richards, Darcy Tucker, Sean Lemmens, Jake Kelly, Daniel Rioli (liked his move to half back)

Forwards: Ben Ainsworth, Jack Petrucelle, Lachie Schultz, Mitch Wallis, Jeremy Finlayson, Todd Marshall, Sam Reid

Definitely think Ben Ainsworth is worth targeting. He’s worth the Dees putting a phone call to his manager.

We had LJ and kozzzy.  Then I reckon it was Deven Robertson, Trent Rivers and Jeremy Sharp.  Happy with the Riv.

Jason taylor wanted M georgiades badly with our 3rd pick, but he was very happy rivers was still available

jake riccardi from gw$ should be a target; after a pretty impressive debut season last year up forward where he looked really good, he has definitely stagnated this year and is now playing back for their, ahem, 'vfl' side

choco coached him at werribee and would know what he could offer

Good call. Definitely on the list. Proven multiple goalkicker which is desperately needed.

Crikey, sons.  Is there anybody who's NOT on your list of trade targets?  Anybody?

I’ll state some types that fit into our needs.  Runners.  Pace.  Skills.  Still our need to compete against Cats and Dogs and Lions.  Sure I’d love the Josh Kelly, Cerra, Amon types but that in my opinion won’t happen given our tight salary cap and lack of low trade picks.

free agents - Not anyone of note. Billings is soft and expensive.  Tom Lynch from the Crows (if only he was a few years younger ) but age and physical question marks so it’s tough.

Maynard of course but another very unlikely

So here’s the targets

1- Dylan Stephens (Swans) on the outer currently however showed plenty of skill in limited games so far. Perfect fit for the other wing opposite to Langdon.

2- Oliver Florent (swans) exactly the player we need. Smart, great skills and pace to create outside run.  Would have to trade out the Weid and get picks back to make this happen.  He’s a Melbourne boy so a chance if the timing is right. Four year deal and $$$.

3- Ed Richards (Dogs) has had injury worries but looks excellent half back /wing. Skilled left footer.  Probably be able to offer him a good deal to push dogs salary cap pressure

4- Oliver Hanrahan (Hawks) for some reason not getting a game with Hawks. Smooth runner and good skills. Loves a goal.  Probably behind Wingard and Breust and Shiels right now.  Definitely a chance as a wing/half forward. Would be a late draft pick in the 50+ as starting offer.  On the list as a highly likely opportunity

5- Ben Ainsworth (Suns) top 5 pick who hadn’t quite fulfilled his talent. Tough and skilled.  Good goalkicker. Would fit into our forward structure.  I’d have consider a swap of Weid and Ainsworth with other pick swaps to make up the spare biscuits.

Others down on the list.  Riccardi from giants has shown good goalkicking.  If there’s a chance he wants to come back to Victoria then choco connection comes into play.  Petruccelle for his pace and goalkicking is appealing if he wants to get back to Vic.

No to Crouch.  No to Constable.

This is just my opinion and just putting the 5 target names out there.

i'm a little confused. All season we've been watching our dysfunctional fwd line kick behind after behind or failure to get busy. We've got Jackson prove that he's going to become an elite ruckman but isn't a genuine forward, Ben brown unable to be the player we paid heavy for and Weideman failing to make the team. We've also seen Tom Mcdonald find some good early form but has dropped away. And we've seen Kozzie to remarkable things but also let us down continuously with set shot goal kicking.

We need forwards that know what they're doing. Forwards that kick straight. Bottom line. Or we can continue watching goal kicking let us down for another season.

i'd look into guys like Breust and Sidebottom. And sidebottom would be playing permanent forward.

With Sam Mitchell flagging significant changes at Hawthorn - I'd be inclined to offer something to wedge Luke Breust out of there, or perhaps Jack Gunston (though he is like for like with Fritsch for mine).

Florent. Offer up that coin. We desperately need this kid. He hasn’t exploded yet. Highly rated, but has not done what he will. Throw the kitchen sink at him. We need good ball users and have not many. Sydney need inside mids. We have a few

We’ve got a lot of NQR inside mids, not sure that helps us when they don’t have any currency.

Florent doesn’t have the currency he should either. He’d require only slightly more than a first rounder. He isn’t a dominant player - but will be. Heeney will require increasing midfield minutes next year, as will Mills. Pair that with Kennedy, Parker, and whoever else runs through there, and I could see Florent at least entertaining a pitch.

Would think 1, 4 and Riccardi are your only realistic chances of moving.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
