Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Issac Smith will be a demon in 2021.

I don't know 100% what the delay is about, but the dees do tend to wait for the window to make things public.

I suspect before Sunday Issac will be rolled out in a red and blue polo.

Well this is turning out to be a total load of crap isn't it! Mental note: When you word your initial post like this, you don't get to use the out of 'oh you know, it's silly season. Things change'. Criticism deserved.

Appreciate that dazzle. Apologies for the disappointment I’ve caused to any posters. its a strange time of the year

Yeah I can't quite get all the disappointment! Things change at rapid pace, I'm confident your info was probably right at that point in the week but then the 11th hour bids out of no-where come in. Credits in the bank, keep on posting and don't worry about all the other stuff, you're Dr Evil! You should be focusing on taking over the world (or something like that) :p.

Criticism of Dr Evil is rightly deserved. It is the silly season and whispers and inside information is certainly appreciated but this guy continually doubled down and categorically stated that Smith would 100% be a Demon.

Things most certainly are fluid at this time of the year but It will be almost impossible to take anything Dr Evil says seriously ever again.

Geelong's version of 'brown paper bags' at it again!

Glad we didn't keep throwing more money at him.

Geelong will carry this handicap for some time - we will not. One less 'perhaps two years' on the table for the MFC, with another year at the respite home and medical guidance. I could not see Smith playing out a full season across four quarters each game with any likelihood. Handy, but not essential to our needs. Brown is another issue, a lock-step forward with potency. It is not a great problem that we missed out on Smith - it is a problem for the Cats, far sooner than later.

The way I see it @Dr evil MAY have been correct at a given point in time, and then Isaac Smith changed his mind. If that's what happened then perhaps then the good doctor was quasi-correct.

I have no problem with the mail that @Dr evil provided. It was the method by which that mail kept arriving.

He was completely  smug in his protestations that Smith would 100% be a Demon. He didn't endear himself with me and it seems many others on here with his assertions that ultimately proved 100% wrong.

You cannot be half pregnant.

He may have good mail and good contacts and I would not have minded if he got this one wrong, as things can definitely change very quickly at this time of the year, if he hadn't been so arrogant with his declarations.

Arrogant? Pretty rough I reckon mate. Pretty sure 99% of posters could recognise I was having a bit of a laugh. I was confident in my info but things clearly changed but I certainly don’t think I was arrogant. Outside of a few posters I think most worked out I wasn’t taking things too seriously pretty quickly.

Look mate, you're the one who looks like the grand goose on this forum and the joke is most clearly and certainly on you, not the posters overreacting.

You say you "weren't taking things too seriously" but stated on several occasions in bold that Smith was 100% going to be a demon and not to worry. Think about how silly that is for a minute. Very silly.

The irony is that YOU were the one that took things too seriously, so rather than deflect in all of this and make out as if you were just "having a laugh", swallow some of that pride and take the criticism that you, and only you, set yourself up for.

Several posters on this forum have good intel but post when a deal is being finalised. Maybe take that approach next time eh?

??? Mate. A lot of my posts were jokes with other posters. I posted info I was very confident in and I’ll cop criticism for it and have been via this and via pm. I even went as far as apologising at one point. So definitely taking the criticism on board.

All people who have been having a crack at me have really achieved is made other posters who have information feel the need to be ultra cautious about posting it which is pretty horrible on a fan forum.

BBO, are you suggesting that Demonland is being increasingly hijacked by overly angry, humourless and self - righteous twats?

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
