Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I wonder who he would replace from the weekend for example. Harmed? Spargo? Brayshaw? Not sure it's an improvement is it?

Look, on talent alone I'd rather him on a wing then Vandenberg or Jones. But he's on a hefty contract at North and contract for couple of years? We'd be paying half that off which is what you don't want.

If he was OOC then I would be a yes for dirt cheap.

I have also heard his attitude is pretty [censored] poor. If Goodwin got rid of Jack Watts because of that then no chance Polec comes to the dees.

Not saying that we would want him, but he is a mile better than Spargo and also far more expensive..

Speculation is that, if Norf wanted out, that they would pay part of the contract that sees him earn around $750k a year.

Even then, I'm not sure he is worth it.  If he can't get a gig at Norf, and with the injuries they have, then something is amiss.  He should never have left Port, but chased the money, and now he can't get a game.

And you have to wonder if Norf will want something decent in return considering they traded out a first rounder for him and Pittard.  You could see them wanted to recoup some of that as well.

It all adds up to a no from me.  I see why we would want someone like him on a wing, but I don't think he is the answer to that issue.

He's obviously not worth what he's being paid, but on talent and output he's better than a ton of players running around in the league.

Round 8 he was BOG, had 25 disposals, 16 contested, 6 tackles, 1 goal... he got dropped. He's not being judged fairly on his output as North are a basketcase with poor culture.

I'd wanna know if there's bad off-field issues. Moving to a fourth AFL club rings alarm bells there. If there are no off-field issues causing these moves, then I'd gladly take him for the right price. On talent and output he's a better player than half our 22 and he'd own a wing and pair nicely with Langdon in that regard.

He's outside but he's not really all that quick is he? Not sure what need of ours he would desperately fill...

he's a very good wingman, quick, hits the scoreboard, and exactly what we need

north want at least half of his contract off the books but will pay the other half

he'd fill the exact need that we have imo

agree his best is very good and can be a game breaker.   does go missing  often though

still concerned about his history at 3 clubs

If you got him for half his wage, you'd have to think very hard about it.

Can kick the footy, is a lefty which would work beautifully with Langdon on the other wing.

He regularly get's more possessions than half a dozen of our guys combined.

I'm sure I have seen elsewhere that he's not being dropped for form, possibly a clash with Shaw.

i wouldn't be - everyone wanted out of brisbane at that time (he was part of the wantaway five) and he got an offer he simply couldn't refuse and port couldn't come close to matching

i'm very confident if he's elsewhere in 2021 he'll be an important contributor for whichever side he presents

don't forget he was brought in as a 'finisher' for north; i don't think they realised what a parlous state their list was in

I agree if we haven't any one else in mind,

Is totally an outside mid long raking kick can pass and a pretty good mark.

Always impressed me when he started at Lions and when he exited they lost some run. Look at his metres gained and score involvements as pace and aggression would suit our other wing.

Halve the salary and maybe a bonus or two if he succeeds which I have no doubt if he was serious he would. Only NO if investigations say VERY DAMAGED GOODS as sometimes you have to back in your cultures and stage of windows your at.

If not Maybe look at  one of Tigers superfluous runners!

He has talent, when fit and keen. He is a lightweight - quite fast with good ball skills and kicking. Very useful on the outside to collect/receive, run and carry, and disposal is good.

Terrible contract that his current club would not want to 'pay out' should he be transferred. Interesting, coz he ain't as good this year as he was - but the are a few years in him.

Overall, no thanks.

Begging the question, why cannot the MFC develop similar types in our own backyard - we start 'em early and soon say goodbye - and like an ant nest there is a flurry of similar types all bustling to be productive and competitive within the home base? We currently have quite a few of these (with muscle and pace) just ready for the opportunities of a professional football career and related development. We lack the capacity to develop consistent and improving footballers.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
