Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Tom Lynch Incident (incl. Dimma vs The Ox)

Is it possible that Richmond have finally gone properly ahead of themselves?

Would be hilarious if they now dropped a couple of their upcoming games, whether it's Freo or Essendon for the upsets or just some good solid failures against the eagles and cats.

Their top 4 ambitions already look shaky, any slip-up and it's an elimination final.

Wouldn't mind earning first shot at them, too.

Why bring up something that happened 20 years ago? What's crying got to do with lynch having cheap shots off the ball? David called him a boofhead. No need to get personal dimma. Also where is the proof that the ox was in tears? I've never seen footage or a photo. also so what if he was. Does Dimma have an issue with grown men crying?

Seriously his mouth works quicker than the brain. A few times he has been in trouble. Don't forget the whole longmire incident this year.

What I find interesting about this particular clip is not that Lloyd squibs, but that big tough man Wallis seems to break a nail and is pretty upset about it.

A pity that football club isn't defunct.

*sigh* Damian, remember the time 20 years ago, where you held a defenceless 18yo up to a then 30yo to get punched to the head neck and face on the football field in a 2v1?

Oh, yes different times etc etc

I don't understand why there is angst on the thread around Wallis punching Green in the throat. Dusty does it every other week and only cops a fine, if anything.

Hardwick has gone several rungs down the ladder in my estimation on this. He needed to point to all the media noise being a learning opportunity for Lynch who has played too close to the line and transgressed - rather than retaliating - and esp. getting personal. What a [censored]. He could learn a thing or two from Goody in this respect.

Why do people criticise Michael Christian? He's a bureaucrat with very little discretion.

Putting a different person in that position wouldn't change anything, would it?

There was another camera angle.  They only showed it once, iirc a least a quarter later.  Shows Long lining Simmonds up from 20-30 metres away charging full tilt for the hip to the top of the head.  An absolute disgrace.  Never cared what anyone said since - despise Long.

Never liked the softing of Hardwick name to the friendly, Dimma, especially by non Richmond fans. Interesting that yesterday Richmond stood down dozens of staff. Is the stress showing now. I have never forgiven the AFL for not investigating a future Grand Final send off rule after that. For us younger members it would be like AVB holding an 18 year olds arms while Steven May punched to vunerable body parts. It was not your typical AFL punch but more like a street fighter who revelled in the violence. As for whether Schwarta cried. Well 20 years ago that might have carried weight with some but more embaressing for Hardwich than Schwarta to bring up now.

Personal insult to the Ox.  Professional insult to fellow coach, Horse a few weeks ago.

Leopards don't change their spots:  once a thug, always a thug.  He has simply changed his weapon.

Hardwick has become my least favourite coach bringing what those dirty flogs did in the 2000 grand final into this.

I have certainly lost some respect for him, Chris Scott is still ahead though.

Yeah nah I've got no time at all for Hardwick on this.

His full forward is developing [censored] tendencies, and so is he.

The blatant hypocrisy of telling the football world not to judge Lynch on his two separate indiscretions but then to distract from Schwarz's comments whilst referring to something that happened 20 years ago is as stark as it is dumb.

It only gets worse when you analyse it further and realise what he's referring to is a series of Essendon players being flogs.

Couldn't agree more, he did a dog act that day and deserved to be cleaned up. Schwartz and Dimma. You'd have to think Dimma is fitter but I God 20 years later I still want him to smash half the Essendon team.

I don't believe it is an insult to the Ox albeit intended.

It shows me that the Ox cared deeply.

If you look at both Hardwick and the Ox

which one out of their replies through the media comes out smelling OK.

I think it’s clear,  the Ox was raising something that was being discussed widely.   It was a cheap hit by Lynch

Hardwick resorts to personal retorts that remind all of his dubious past

enough said !

This isn't a great sign for Richmond, TBH.

Some ageing footballers who have lost a bit of their youthful zip get frustrated because things are harder for them than they used to be. That's when you see little things like Ablett Jnr give a couple of little sneaky one where he never used to. It's usually an indicator that the veteran is just hanging on and they know they're not as good as their brain instinctively remembers itself to be.

Richmond have had some pretty dodgy moments this year. I dare say that things aren't as easy as they used to be and they're feeling very vulnerable. I think Dimma has just given about 8 other clubs a real shot of confidence with those (hilariously stupid) comments.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
