Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Smart to get Gawn absolutely cherry ripe now, let him be as close to full fitness as possible for a run at the finals.

very confident we have everything we need to beat the doggies tomorrow. they haven't been in great form

Tipping a big return to form for Tommy and Sammy to finally get a bag and kick 6

The Smith experiment is finished.

To me it was either forward or bust and unfortunately it's looking bust for Smith.

Disagree. While he is clearly not best 22, he has some ability and  every side needs some backup players  to cover injuries.
I have several players marked for leaving the list at year’s end and he is not one of them. HOWEVER, backup players aren’t kept forever, so depending on list makeup and size over the next year or so, you may end up correct and he could be gone, if he is not seen as a required player.

I'm sick to death of our ruckmen, and good players they are for us as well, getting kneed in the back and fended out of contests.

The umpires to their credit have picked up on this and are now starting to pay some frees off the ball. However one of the things they will need to pick up on in this game is not all on ballers like the Bont are clean. There are a couple of the Scragger boys who have been around for a while who play like their parent used too.....

No Tommy is getting better each week.

Last Sat vs Pies was two clunksaway from a 3 goal gsme as well as handy ruck back up with some physicality and round the ground assistance.

Pruessy has to be No 1 if he plays and that's fine fir tomorrow.

Tommy needs the run fitness and is handy in key positions and on the ball.

Harsh on Smith I reckon.  He had played a handful of games. A few fwd then injured, then a few back.

he had enough attributes to persevere with. He at least needs a run of game fwd before we give up on him.

Only some games and scratch matches as a forward please.

The 'running' side we pick will be interesting - and that, more than anything will beat the Doggies at this stage of proceedings. I'd like to see just that little bit more mobility in our team to stretch the Bulldogs as far as possible, for as long as possible. Carna Dees!

I'd reckon that a Smith-like forward would blend well and make a good contribution to our forwards and options. I doubt if TMac could suddenly produce the goods that he used to exhibit.

Yea I agree, Tmac looked the closest he’s been all season last week. I think it would be an interesting experiment with BP up forward but maybe not the season/current ladder position to be doing so.

Slightly off topic but is it just me that a week feels like an eternity now given we’ve had 4 and 5 day breaks. Feel like forever for this game to come around. But can’t wait ?

21 degs forecast, sunny with low humidity.  But the strong westerly is still forecast (32kmh gusting to over 40).  That is slightly diagonally across the ground at Metricon.  Probably not a great day for Naughton and a fair bit of ground ball to be won.

Now that is the sort of weather  forecast i can work with. Love the specificity of the diagonal breeze. I hope kozzie goes to that pocket and Langdon is on the optimal wing.

Top job.

The decision to keep Preuss in for another game, is good for Gawn, therefore good good the Dees, but  also really good exposure for Preuss himself, to show what he could do if he was no 1 at any Other club.  If he was to look elsewhere will be a good advert to other clubs. Therefore really good for him.
it will guarantee that he goes hard and long.  Wish him well for tomorrow’s game

In: Hannan

Out: Sparrow

I like Sparrow, but this would be my only change as well. And I want Hannan getting further up the ground like he did early against North.

Good news. Right decision to ensure Gawn is fully recovered given his history with knees.
Any idea if English is playing for the Dogs?

Bevo certainly didnt exude any confidence in him getting up for this weekend at his presser yesterday.

But he could be playing mind games...

Just heard him on SEN, I’d say English won’t play.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
