Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

This poor guy was a pretty good player,I was pleased he came to Melbourne. Then we learn he has concussion, well over a year ago and he is just listed as Indefinite .

does anyone know any more? You don’t give up on a bloke like this, if there is any possibility he can play again . Is he at the club? Was he in the gym?

He's with the squad and doing forms of Rehab after recently quarantining on the Gold Coast. Extremely conservative approach which is currently centred around his long term health, rather than his long term footballing future. There is hope. Goody quite likes him.

Yes as posted many times previously, his health now is the primary concern. I think he will continue to work away from any contact.  Running and strength work only.  MFC will do it’s best and it’s likely he will retire at end of 2020 in agreement with the club medical team.

I think the club and the AFL need to be so careful with players showing constant and repetitive concussions.

Brain injury is a serious lifelong debilitating condition on some of these young guys.

Have heard this also from a club source.

As a 19 year old in his second season he averaged over 22 disposals off half back and finished 2nd in their BnF two votes behind Tom Lynch, and ahead of Steven May, Bennell and Miller. He looked set to become one of the elite back flanks in the league. Such a shame that injury ruined his career.

His long term health is the priority at this stage. Concussions are nasty - look at how much it's ruined the life of Paddy McCartin. He basically lives in isolation with constant headaches, susceptible to bright light and randomly loses feeling in his hands. Wish Kade good health!

I’ve taken the absence of his name when injury updates are given as a clear indication that he is being rehabilitated towards retirement. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s been working with the coaches a lot for perhaps a career post-footy. Concussions are such a difficult one to work out because it appears everyone reacts differently. But right now a footy club would be a good environment for him.

Whatever happens I hope he doesn’t suffer ill effects through his life.

There are different levels of concussion.Did he suffer several? If he’s contemplating retirement I can’t see the point of training . I very much hope he is not too bad and might be able to give it a go.depending, of course, on medical advice

GC didnt offer him a contract, they knew he was cooked. Bizzare that he got a fat 3 year contract with us.

Unfortunately you'd think he needs to retire for the sake of his health.

I could be wrong but I think the club probably sees “dumping him” or leaving him behind in Melbourne as a bad move for his mental health and at the end of the day he is a contracted player so no harm in helping him rehab with the unlikely chance of him getting fully rehabilitated being something in the background.

I'd still love to know the extent of the due diligence that the club undertook before offering Kade a contract, which presumably is worth around $1M over the three years.

I find it hard to believe that he had concussion issues at GC, was miraculously cured when we came knocking at the end of 2018, and suddenly had concussion issues again a few months later.

There was a school of thought that the root cause of KK's concussions had been found, something to do with the neck. It's risk/reward and the club backed themselves to strengthen the neck muscle etc etc.

The same thing could have been said for Gus Brayshaw in 2017. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

I recall the revelation of the neck as the root cause at the time. I hope we didn't rely on reports by GC medicos on that matter.

Like the McCartins, he was the better player of the brothers, but because of concussions, the other brother has played more.
There is a lot of luck involved in having a long footy career.

It was an independent neurologist based on the Gold Coast.

When a player has a couple of years out, people tend to forget the talent of a player. KK can seriously play, a runner up Best & Fairest winner.

Come on. Give our club a bit of credit. As if.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
