Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

We need outside run and small forwards. These can be found or developed. Jeremy Cameron is very expensive. As RFA he would would cost 1.5M at least. It may mean we need to sell off Petracca or Angus. We have 1 or 2 too many great midfielders which will be hard to pay.

We would win a flag with Jeremy Cameron in our team like Tigers did with Lynch. They didn't balk when Reivoldt was still kicking goals, as they knew they had to get one of the best. They had small forwards but they came up with the contract and got the chocolates. Time is right, Now or never.

There’s a lot more holes to fill to win a flag, this is not the answer

First time in a while that I can remember being halfway through their first season and being so excited by our first three picks in a draft

Brings back memories of $cully, Trengrove, and Gysberts... ?

What is even better is that pick 10-13 will be pushed back to 15-20 after all the top academy and aligned players are taken.

Can't imagine we would get the likes of Kozzie with that sort of a pick this year.

Kozzie is a bit of a bargain really.  And we get a year of experience into him.

Yes the original trade with Nth was a win for nth as we included 26 and 50 but when we traded nths pick (8) to freo for 10 (12 pickett)  we got an i think 28 (rivers) back from freo which equaled everything out.

"Restricted free agent Williams politely declined the long-term commitment and those talks are indefinitely on hold as 17 other clubs circle the speedster.

North Melbourne has reportedly shown interest, while the Demons are actively looking for more pace and skills. These two clubs will have plenty of competition if Williams remains unsigned this time next month."

One a bit left field is Shaun Higgins.. i think Nth might look to gut the place in terms of age and therefore older players will be up for grabs.. he would be a great pick up as he has so much class.. could be great off a Half back.. just a thought.. feel free to howl it down.

Would be 33 at the start of next year. Big call.

No one is giving you anything for ANB, Smith or Hunt, maybe a 4th rounder for ANB if you're lucky

My Dees List: Finals standard AFL players

Key Forwards: Weideman

Medium Forwards: Melksham, Fritsch

Small Forwards: None

Inside Mids: Oliver Trac Viney Brayshaw Harmes

Outside Mids: Bennell, Langdon

Medium/Small Defenders: Salem, Hibberd, Jetta

Key Defenders: May Lever

Ruck: Gawn

I'd be chasing,

Key Forward, CHF type. (Jacko will be a ruckman/onball)

Small Forward/Mid: Papley type

Left foot Wingman

Outside Mids: Goalkicker would be nice.

Mature Rebounding Right foot defender: (I really like Rivers but he'll take a year or 3)

Will be Interesting to see if Norf use their 2 x first round picks to bid on any of the aligned players. Or if other clubs with top pick do, for that matter.

I like that happening because it means 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round picks get gobbled up for points, and our later picks move up the order and potentially become very handy. For example, 48, 60 and 62 might end up being 32, 45 and 46.

2 first rounders for a forward pocket......lmao

Depends what numbers the picks might be. ATM Geelong have 16 & 17 and Bris have 18 &19. Both pairs are 1st rounders.

Would you give 18 & 19 for Papley? I certainly would, dc!

Isaac Smith > imo, younger and more reliable (body wise)

We can always strengthen i think the stick with what we have attitude is wrong. the time is now to go all in on the next 3-5 year period.

i like the Tarrant and Talia talk a lot too (allows OMac and Smith to leave) and i wouldnt be opposed to a preuss trade rewarding the man if the top ruck spot opened up (cats/giants/hawks/swans) we would bring in a CCJ type to replace him and probably pay them less (also more fwd suitability)

vanders is not the answer on the wing and jones wont be in the side next year so a williams/polec/hunter style player is an absolute necessity with hibbo being 30+ too. obvs not discounting rivers in that role too.

With Hunt/CWagner presumably falling off the list and ANB/Baker pretty close behind a small forward is ideal. I keep saying Cockatoo and i wouldnt be opposed to a Petrucelle (WCE) either.

and Pete Wright cannot be happy at the suns surely

Also Smith has no trade value as hes OOC he'll be delisted and picked up that way or will be for an exchange of picks that moves us up the draft.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
