Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Freo may move back based on being in points debt from last year. They may go from 4 to 6, for example.  Won’t worry us unless we trade back in (which I doubt).

Hard to know how it plays out if lists are savaged, do we still have to take 3?

Frost for pick 21 every day of the week. Great job JM

We traded him in for pick 23, so we've come out alright!

Not sure if he'll still be there for our first pick, but hope Jason Taylor and the team are considering young Logan McDonald from the Perth Demons. He's been turning heads over here in the west. Looks a great prospect. I watched him on Saturday against the Falcons and he didn't have the best game but still kicked two and showed some glimpses of brilliance. His aerial ability is fantastic, judges his leap and plucks the ball from on high.

He’s probably in top 5 calculations now, McDonald’s had a terrific season for Perth so far.

Hopefully a club like North Melbourne with early picks make a few clubs use up their early picks by bidding on F/S and Academy players.  This is where the NGA are so unfair, the Bulldogs have a kid that is rumoured to be top pick, the bulldogs have pick 8, this enabled them to go hard on a trade with pick 8, trade pick 8 for a future first round pick, there is not a chance that the Bulldogs will take pick 8 in this years draft, as long as they can have enough points to cover the pick in late second rounders and third round picks.

I'm not all over the F/S and Academy players but all we here is the top end of this draft is full of them.

On the flip side it might give us a chance if we want to get a pick in the top 10, lets say Future first round pick and pick 23 for Bulldogs pick 8 and future second round pick

I think the academy and NGA systems are an absolute crock, and has gone some way to stuffing up the drafts supposed equity.

I also think that the F/S discount should not apply either. Having first dibs should be the only advantage a team gets when drafting.

Northern clubs may have a sook, but let's remember they chose to establish themselves as AFL clubs in their respective locations, knowing full well both the pros and cons of doing so. If they don't like it, they shouldn't have formed themselves in such a vicinity.

Don't the Sun's get middle 1st round  (11) and start 2nd round (19) PPs? Or have i got that wrong?

As a side note, I see the AFL are planning to phase out academy zone selections in 1st and 2nd rounds. Meaning that academy players are open slather during those rounds. Not this year though.

Draft shake up

Edit. I just saw GCS traded 2020 first round PP to WCE for 2019 pick 27 (Jeremy Sharp)

NGA priority access changed, I wonder if this will also include the Northern state academies.

Being the lack of visibility of development this year surely its a great time to have concentrated picks in the 25-60 range where you may chance late developing kids who could not show their wares this year. Even some players don’t really show out as much until the champs when the quality rises around them or they are forced to play a different role than at club level. Think of how many bolters  there have been due to the championship or post champs that have shot in from 25-40 or further range to be top 10 or top 25.

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim
