Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

You too could become a cardboard cutout. Would you do it?

With Collingwood going down this path their collective IQ at the ground is set to double in 2020. ?

Well, obviously Collingwood have to go with cardboard to be true to their heritage, but what would be the appropriate materials for the other clubs?

carlton should use cardboard, i think you mean?

the filth should use an effigy of a crowd constructed solely from the teeth plucked from the mouths of their rabid hordes

I would have thought brown paper bags for the Blues.

GWS can just be a bunch of empty suits, because we all know that's where their real support is coming from...

I'm pretty sure I heard yesterday that an overseas sporting club is offering supporters the chance for them to have their lifesize image on a cardboard cutout at that club's games. There was a fee ($32, I think) with the money going to charity.  Would you pay $32 for a lifesize picture of yourself at the game with the money going either to the club itself or a charity?

I would pay to see a life size picture of Neal Daniher with a beanie on his head for the big freeze round. Imagine 40k ND’s watching us play!

What could possibly go wrong.....

Dominic Cummings may be weathering the storm that engulfed him for apparently flouting the government’s coronavirus lockdown guidance but that has not stopped Boris Johnson’s top adviser being ridiculed on the other side of the world.

As Australia’s NRL season restarted this week, the Fan in the Stand initiative allowed the public to pay $22 for a cardboard cutout of themselves to be placed in a seat to “watch” their team in action.

It seems one Sydney Roosters fan with a sense of humour had other ideas. A cardboard cutout of Cummings appeared at Bankwest Stadium for the Roosters’ match against South Sydney Rabbitohs and did not go unnoticed by TV viewers.

“He’s travelled to Sydney now. Cummings doesn’t give a [censored]!” posted Sam Rowlett, along with a photo of the match coverage – a post which quickly gained several thousand likes on Twitter.

No, but I'd pay $32 to put embarassing photos of my friends on them.

Not quite sex dolls but.....

Over the weekend a photograph of mass murderer Harold Shipman made an appearance in the stands, then a TV sketch featured an image of Adolf Hitler, prompting furious criticism from Australia’s Jewish community.

The broadcaster and the show’s host subsequently apologised, while the NRL said it would review its screening process.

Shipman was found guilty in 2000 of murdering 15 of his patients by lethal injection, and while he may not be as infamous in Australia as he is in the UK, the inclusion of his likeness raises questions over the vetting procedure used by the NRL in its scheme

Any idea when real human fans are allowed in?

If it were 50 years or so down the track the AI's could be attending.

Now there's a way to build a membership base.

All the AI's would be programmed to be optimists so they'd therefore keep fronting up.

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
