Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

well then OD inject some reality into the club’s talk of a new admin/training hub within walking distance of the Gee. Where is that going to be? The mind boggles, there aren’t too many options I can think of especially with the Jolimont NIMBY’s so active in the area.

Maybe the directors have been reading Demonland,  and have realised their past mistakes.?

I just listened to Pert on SEN. I thought what he said was spot on.
The Blow Torch has been put on the Club at Full Blast, by The Club itself. He fully understands and expects to be turfed out real fast if the Club fails to win games. But that is the challenge, to not fail and to actually achieve an elite standard

It’s all or nothing. Fantastic, this has been what i have wanted for decades.
Everyone at the Club should be on Notice...

Deep Down i think he will struggle to play at all.
But i would be training him to be a full time Burst player if he makes it.
if those few games are in September then he could be very useful indeed.

My gut feel, his body will take 8 to 9 months from the beginning of walking and light jogging, for his body to rearrange and shape-shift, to accommodate his new legs.

In my opinion, it is next year,  we are hopeful for re Bennell.  I think from now until this time next year,  his body will be constantly changing/adjusting to find its optimum balance.

I imagine he might play 6 games low intensity in the AFL, of the lesser games,  where we can afford to manage his time on ground.  Similar with Casey.?  He needs a handful of AFL games to remember the intensity,  and so help towards 2021.

I reckon 2022/23 will be our peak years, looking ahead.  And again 2025/26/27,  long range,  going on our current list.   Hence my 2ic's comments in another thread.

TMc and Gawn will be senior citizens,  before we do any real damage in September, IMO.

There is still the parcel of land next to Goschs, they may build there and upgrade Goschs a touch

Jones, Hibbo & the Jet,  will all be gone within the next 18 - 20 months.

The team will still be adjusting to new players with lesser games experience,  but will have a better pedigree,  in that we will be used to playing after August, each year.  The belief that comes with knowing/expecting to win big games of H&A will become entrenched, and that is the platform we need to get to.

This is a step we kinda skipped, in the late 80's.   It just happened that way. we were still a bit underdone/underdeveloped mentally.   It happened too quickly for that development.  And we got crushed a couple of times, which hurts and tests the culture within.

But this time The CLUB has made itself accountable, and as far as i know that is a first. I applaud them for that.
we talk about the bar being raised.
This time the Club has done it

Yes the optimal answer would be admin, entertainment and indoor training facilities within the MCG stadium and ability to train on the MCG at least twice per week and we have Gosch’s as a back up.

Would we be able to get Admin space in the new plan for the Great Southern Stand? Even Social Club area.Allocation ?

Oh  and train for closed sessions and special occasions on the G snd still use Goschs and Casey?

And lastly Relocate the Demon Shop from its absurd almost underground hidden site!

Now that's within walking distance of the G.

When you go to a home game against the filth.   and find all the bottom area behind the goals northern end is ALL given to Pie members  and its our home game!!

You know exactly where we sit on the chart of importantcy to the MCG trust and the AFL

your right the vibe is very poor     pizzes me off !!

MD you are overlooking that it is ALL levels at that City End . Virtually  all the Ponsford Stand other than the MCC members part .

Also we do have our members area in the Northern Stand to the left of the MCC which we have had for years for members.Hopefully we will need more in future years.

Melbourne imv, should occupy the Melbourne end,  the western end of the 'G'.   We are Melbourne.

I would like to see us take control of the Ponsford,  and around to the Southern stand wing,  and also around the Northern stand to the wing area.

Let Richmond control the Richmond end.

The others suit themselves with whats left.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
