Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Interesting question.  Who would I prefer on the wing, Kolodjashnij or Tomlinson ?

How good would it be if Harley Bennell somehow returns to his best ?

Neither player in the poll inspires.

I reckon I would take a punt on Hunt OR ........... Luke Jackson!

The difference is all those players had shown they were good at the top level. That cannot yet be said about Baker.

Maxy was at our club for years, before he showed he could play.  Same with the Jet, being played out of position, and under the wrong administration.  Vanders injured for plenty of time, before we all sore whet he can deliver.

Pedo was one who went from outer, to a fresh approach, and delivered on many occasions, when he was needed to.

I'm still undecided on Lever.

I'm confident on May.

Same with Weide.   We've seen what Weide can do when he's fit and strong.  The desire was their to witness.   So for him, its a matter of getting the body right to go, and get some confidence.

Confident in Petty.

Unsure at this stage of OMac.   Imo he needs more intensity.  Thats more than attitude.

Unsure of Preuss.  He has to show he can last, rucking thru a game of AFL.?

I've always felt that we may well be giving him his superannuation,  on behalf of Gill and his mates.

One hand, washing 'the others'.

You do this for us, and we will do this in turn.

Waiting to see what we get in return then.

(apart from being robbed of pick 2 last year haha)

Not too many on here seem too excited about Tomlinson. I personally think he is a great acquisition if nothing more than his size and running ability. I can't recall the number of times last year where we kicked long to medium or small sized forwards with 2-3 big bodied defenders easily marking and bouncing the ball out of our forward 50.

Tomlinson will push up to be an option out of defensive 50, has the size and the tank to do it on repeat. This means Tmac can actually get the ball at CHF rather than the wing and Weid/Petty/Jackson can start out of the square, rather than at CHF.

Tomlinson in my opinion, strengthens our forward line by simply being an outlet aka. Crows Tom Lynch.

I would've been prior to last year due to his versatility. His 2017 prelim performance against Richmond was simply excellent as he played the wing role perfectly with 26 possession and 7 marks.

I thought he was very ordinary in 2019. All eyes were on him in the finals and he quite frankly did next to bugger all in the 3 finals he played. 9 possession and 5 marks a games at the business end of the year is no where near what you need from someone brought over on a 4 year contract. And those stats were inflated by a 17 touch grand final shellacking.

Hopefully he fulfills his role as a versatile player that can play wing or plug holes at either end.

As for KK, the only thing I'm expecting  from him is a retirement in the coming months, sadly.

Sadly, I completely agree. We will have one more spot on our list come the mid-season draft I'd suspect

I like the overhead marking he brings us for around the front edge of the centre square.   Of course, not to mention his running power.

These to me are his advantages for us,  and as you said,  his marking around halfback as well, aiding us bringing the ball out.

In these days of full ground pressure footy, imo  marking the ball is the absolute pressure relief.

Honestly has he shown anything at senior level? Rarely in the best five at Casey. If it was not for injuries in 2019 I doubt he would have a senior game to his name.

He looked excellent at senior level, his debut against West Coast was particularly good.

He has poise and composure which we greatly lack, will be a payer if his body holds up.

I think Tomlinsons value to us will be what he adds in defensive (and offensive) structure through running hard, covering ground and providing options.  He may not dominate stats or attacking wise, but as a club who constantly gets exposed "out the back" or on the wings, his presence should improve us.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
