Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Now that we are winning again it is unlikely we will finish bottom 2 which removes any chance we have at drafting Rowell and Anderson.

With that in mind, and with the lack of outside mids and key forwards available, I really hope we take a look at this kid.

Jeremy McGovern type key backman who will setup our defence for the next 12 years and ready made replacement once May ages. Expected to go between picks 5-8

Noticed him in last year's carnival. He's hard to miss! Was the standout KP player on the ground vs Vic Metro.

The only thing I can find about him online has him listed as 190cm.

We an early developers frame that doesn't look like a speedy rebounder or laser like kick I can't really see the combination that screams top 5 pick and the player we should take.

Never pass up best available if there's a clear gap but otherwise I imagine our focus will be on finding a player who can impact in the front half of the ground, be that a classy midfielder or a forward.

I played Juniors with Dipper. He was playing CHB then, this kid reminds me a bit of him in his early days.

If he's really only 190 then I'd pass unless he shoots up this year.  Too small for a KPD and while he's a good kick he doesn't seem to have a lot of pace to him to play as a flanker.  Also, you have to watch the guys who have big bodies in the juniors.  They often struggle to adjust to playing in an environment where they aren't the biggest strongest guy on the park.

Agree, in fact in my opinion He is not even a need.

Quick outside mids and tall forwards should be high on our list.

Have you looked at the top draftees this year? Unfortunately it’s looking very very thin up the top end for outside mids and KPFs. In fact not sure I saw any in the current phantom touted top 20s. Unless we want to burn a top 5 pick on a player who is expected to go mid 20s

This draft is looking a like a dream draft for Goodwin with it packed with inside mids.

Hayden Young? I've only seen him play one quarter but had a laser left foot.

Yes i have. If you actually knew the draft well enough you would know it's actually not packed with inside mids but more so half forwards/ half backs who have the ability to push up and play on the outside

The top 10 will include the like of Lachie Ash, Caleb Serong, Hayden Young, Sam Flanders, Dylan Williams and Dylan Stephens. These guys all have a set of class and x factor.

Would you say that as a result, this draft is not as talented/deep as last years DD?

Last year the draft wasn't that deep. After around the pick 25 it completely dropped off the cliff in my opinion.

This year its hard to get a take on the depth and talent. If you are looking for KP forwards or a ruckman then this is not the draft for you.

There will be genuine talent in the top 20 this year. For me if be keeping a close eye on Lachie Ash, Hayden Young and Dylan Williams.

Then we must trade for what we need right?

Why would we use this pick for a developing defensive player when we have heavily recruited In this area for the last few years? Rather a wing type

Which player in top 20 would fit that? Most are inside mids or medium sized flankers. We already have plenty of those.

DEE-RUBBING by George on the Outer

For the second week in a row, the Demons had to endure some particularly oppressive match conditions — this time, playing in 30 degree temperatures at the MCG, following the humid sticky Sydney atmosphere of last week.   The warmer conditions didn’t seem to worry the Dee’s since the ball was so much easier to handle, and handle it with surety they did in handing out a 45 point drubbing to the much fancied Western Bulldogs.   After a slow start that saw the Dogs out to

CROSSING THE PICKETT LINE by The Oracle

Melbourne’s performance in losing its Round Zero contest in Sydney has certainly caused the club, the coach and the players to come firmly under the watchful eye of the football world and exposed all of its aspects to a microscopic lens.   Much of the commentary surrounding them has been less than complimentary and, while some might argue that this is unfair after only one round, leaving aside some of the scuttlebutt that surrounds a lot of the discussion around the game, a fair amoun
