Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Frost's 2019 looks better than it really was because the side around him was so poor. He's not worth what he's asking for.

The reports suggest Frost is asking for more money than we're prepared to pay him, so we've let him talk to other clubs and are prepared to let him go. I completely understand the club's call.

Arguments that we should keep him because of his pace are misguided IMO. Yes, teams need foot speed, but not from their key defenders. How many key defenders also play the dash off half back role?

We need to plan our list for our next premiership, not for more seasons of 2019-level rubbish. Arguing that we should keep Frost because May and Lever might get injured again isn't, IMO, a smart approach to list management.

Edit: forgot the argument I find the worst of them all: the argument that if Clarkson wants him then he must be good. Clarkson might be a stunning coach but he also traded in Vickery, Fitzpatrick and O'Rourke, all of whom stunk. Really such a dumb argument.

I know but if May was injured and Lever can’t play one on one or injured like the last round then it could happen.

But what ever floats ur boat.

Ah right, we're doing the hypotheticals, yes?

If May, Lever, Oscar, Jetta, Hibberd, Salem, Petty, Tom Mac, Weideman, Gawn, Oliver and Joel Smith were all injured, I'd hate to see what would happen with Viney on Brown.

Am I doing it right?

That was 2019.

Then turn the ball over so the goals are kicked by someone else.

That was 2019... and 18... and 17....

No good stopping them if you often give it straight back.

I remember when Shaun Mckernan kicked 4 on Sam Frost at the start of the year..

That was funny..

Jack Darling also kicked 4 on Frost in Darwin.

Josh Kennedy bagged 4 goals straight against Frost in round 9 this year. Same Josh Kennedy that kicked another 4 against old Frost balls in the prelim last year. After that performance, it was exact reason why club went after Steven May.

Yep. Frosty sure did destroy Kennedy........

If my memory serves me correctly May and Lever were both out in the last round which is what I referred to. So it’s a little more realistic than ur sarcastic reply.

Also Viney could at least match brown in the strength department which is more that I could say for Omac.

Have a good night wise.

So we should pay ‘overs’ for Frost in case our other backs all have a similar injury riddled season like this season just gone? Because that’s what it’s going to take to re-sign him. Then what happens next season when we have multiple required players we want to extend or re-sign? Frost is not worth potentially losing out on those players or bringing in others via trade. I think the keep Frost camp need to look at the bigger picture.

Don’t get me wrong I would like to keep Frost but I would not be paying overs. We seem to have already done that with May and Lever and can’t keep doing it (albeit they are better players).

Its irrelevant anyway as we haven’t offered him a contract and he is on his way to the hawks.

We've got about another 20 players in the same category.  C & D graders dominate the list

But you'd never know it reading these threads.  I know the thread is about Frost but we get way too focused on 1 player here.

Frost really isn't the problem.  The list has gone backwards at a rate of knots and the coaching the same.  If we don't get a big influx of real talent we'll be lucky to win 8 games next year.  Forget 2018 - that ship has sailed.

Hibberd is as slow as a wet week,  Jetta is just about done,  Salem has regressed,  May is injury prone and Lever the same.  Hore looks ok.

Looks good on paper only

Big mistake letting Frost walk, there's no back cover WHEN May and Lever are injured. O/Mac ???? I think not

Hopefully we can get Tomlinson to play the swingman type role if need be and he can provide cover in that instance. He’s coming a fair bit cheaper than what old chicken with his head cut off is asking.

Petty, Tomlinson.

And O'Mac will be fine - with a full pre-season under his belt.

I think he's going to have to develop into the role 'Dee'...

We can't afford to have one man just hanging around for the intercept, he's going to have to carry his weight when required.

Geelong use Tom Stewart and GWS use Nick Haynes as interceptors who get tasked with minding a half forward and peeling back, Tigers either get Vlastuin free or have Grimes peel back deeper. Lever has to win is share of one on ones but I'd still be starting him off dictating terms to a bad forward than tasking him with a good tall opponent.

...Vlastuin & Grimes can lock down an opponent when needed.

Lever is going to have to develop this part of his game to be a better rounded player.

Serous question:  if frosty balls was on someone else’s list, would you want us to pay ‘overs’ to get him to the club?  Does he improve the list compared to not having him (and having someone else like petty step up into that role)?

What a troll.

Oscar mcd player on Mckernan.  Check the tape.

Frost was moved onto Kennedy after Omcd had been beaten in Perth. Your memory is poor.

You might want to question Oscar mcd and see who he has ever beaten.

Btw.  You campaigning to get Harley Bennell. What a joke.

Far as I know nobody knows what Frost has asked for not has it been confirmed anywhere that the club has made any offer to him

All speculation.

I want Frost to stay Goodwin doesn't so that's it. Frost will play some good footy elsewhere.Goidwin won't last the 2020 season. Now that's speculation

Good question.

I’d think the club had completely lost the plot if we attempted to bring him in.

From the HS this morning

HAWTHORN’S luring of Melbourne full back Sam Frost on a multi-year deal came after the Demons had declined to offer him a deal.

Melbourne believes Oscar McDonald can fill the third defensive tall option alongside Steven May and Jake Lever, even though Frost was ninth in the Demons best-and-fairest this year.

AS stated earlier I am a Frost fan but it appears there was NO offer to Frost and even scarier is their blind faith in Oscar. I fear this is a mistake.

On SEN last week Frost said he was waiting to hear from Melbourne on a ‘fresh deal’. He’d been offered one earlier in the season but rejected it.

Tickets-Frost: “Based on my age (26) and the year I’ve had, I imagine there would have been a few phone calls but I don’t know how serious a lot of those phone calls are or aren’t so I’ll just leave that to (manager) Anthony (McConville).”

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
