Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Finals Week 1

I went tonight and at the ground it wasn’t that hard to differentiate the teams

It was a pretty ropey game; pies got the early break and that was it

terrible skills from both sides; meth coke will feast on cats next week and pies will lose de goey and probably Greenwood

Very hard to see either going all the way

Cats must apply pressure at the stoppages and stop the kicking game of the Eagles

Would love the AFL to move the game to Kardinia Park

If Geelong go out in straight sets, there'd have to be questions asked about Scott wouldn't there?

Bloke has overseen a string of finals chokes already. His tenure has been masked by walking into a side that coached itself to a flag in 2011.

I commend him for changing up their forwardline this year, but they rely on too few and many go missing when the blow torch is applied back the other way.

Ugh the moment you wake up in the morning and realise the filth are straight through to a prelim.

Admittedly I didn't see the game but did the pies lose Degoey and greenwood before 1/2 time?  Seriously how could the cats not win and the pies didn't even kick a goal in the final term.

The pie where Happy to defend in the last qtr they just went slow and sucked the game to death, if footy goes on like this year it will lose fans, has became a defensive game.

The pies unlike us have shown they can be decimated by injuries and still play good footy. They are a switched on “one for all and all for one” side and not one led by two headless chooks.

That's being a bit hard on chooks perhaps.

Last night's game was boring. Turned the sound down and read the cricket rain updates in the Guardian for entertainment

We’re back to a place where the only enjoyment we get is watching other teams lose.

Love them or hate them, the Pies have a strong belief about themselves and good luck to them. That Elliott smother/dive on Bews from memory in the dying minutes was pure determination and team first football.

Most Geelong players looked like they had concrete boots on. Dangerfield carried them last night and he nearly pinched the game.

Yep. Not often a winning side doesn’t score anything in the last Quarter.

Shows just how bad Jeelong were in the First Half

The cliff is coming for the Cats.

It all looks good at the early stages of the season when the old stagers are up and running.

They were the same last year in the finals against us.

Selwood, Hawkins, Ablett and Taylor all ineffective.  Just too old come the end of the season.

Will be interesting to see how they play the Kelly trade. He's a good player.

Top notch coaching by Buckley last night.  Down to 2 in last 1/4 with 4 goal lead managed perfectly.

If only we had those types of thinkers inside Dees box.?

Last year the cats only managed 6 goals against us and last night could only manage 7. That is not going to be enough next week against the eagles. Hawkins kicks 4 behinds. Not good enough from your key forward. If he was playing against us that would have been 4 straight. Even if he kicked 1/2 they would have won.

Anyway go bulldogs today and go brisbane tonight.

Didn't think that goal review that went against the cats was so clear. Hopeless camera angle.

I would have thought it to be umpire's call at best.

Agree,  it was pretty hard to get enthused by that match at all.

Happy though,  very rarely do I want Collingwood to win.

But then I saw Eddie prancing around and felt ill.

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you his observations from this morning's Captain's Run including some hints at the changes for our ANZAC Eve clash against the Tigers. Sunny, though a touch windy, this morning, 23 of them no emergencies.  Forwards out first. Harrison Petty, JvR, Jack Billings, Kade Chandler, Kozzy, Bayley Fritsch, and coach Stafford.  The backs join them, Steven May, Jake Lever, Woey, Judd McVee, Blake Howes, Tom McDonald

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim
