Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

5 minutes ago, John Lord said:

The AFL works in strange ways

Essendon heavily sanctioned and falls to the bottom of the ladder. Rewarded with pick one.

Melbourne crippled with injuries and fall to the bottom of the ladder. Reward push back their draft pick. It would only happen in the Afl

Really feels like we have been shafted again, I haven't keep up with this year's crop who will Melbourne pick up with 1st pick?

The AFL has a strange way of doing things. giving the suns additional picks of young players, who given time will eventually want to move back home or anywhere that is not the goldcoast. No Salary cap relief because the AFL does not want to compromise the salary cap? I guess no player ever gets paid outside the salary cap through sweet heart deals with sponsors or supporters including the AFL.

I seem to recall the Swans had additional salary cap for years and GWS probably still has a bigger salary cap than all the other teams. But the AFL in their wisdom dont want to do that for the Suns.  Why did Ablett go to the suns in the first place, why are most of the player moving clubs, because of $'s offered.  Additional $'s will allow the sun to get bigger named seasoned players now who can help turn the club around now and who will stay as long as they are getting paid well.

My initial reaction to loosing pick 2 to the Gold Coast was to be absolutely spitting chips (like hey, we haven't been shafted enough at the draft by the expansion clubs).  But right now I'm kind of at peace with pick 3 and 8.  Look back a few years at what picks 4 and 9 got us, how the players taken just before them fared and similar for pick 2 and 3 a few years before that and I think the semi lottery nature of the draft shows it's hand.  Makes me think that one first round pick is more or less as good as any other.

The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
