Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I’ve been a member for 34 years, the last 16 as an interstate member and make at least one trip a year over east to watch a game. I wouldn’t consider myself a fair weather supporter. There just comes a time when enough is enough.

Been a member 25 years and bought family memberships for the past 15 years when the wife has no interest and never attends and the kids tickets are shuffled between nephews and nieces. After this year, I will definitely downgrade to just a ticket for myself and forget the effective donation of an extra $200-$300 for the other tickets. Similar to @beetle, I feel compelled to contribute in the unlikely event we are ever any good, but the finances can't keep donating as much to rubbish. I might even get back into local footy coaching to ensure I can't ruin my weekends watching them!

I support the club as I do family or friends, so yes, I'll always renew.

Fair weather 'supporters' can [censored] right off.

I will support a club that values me as a member.

I don't think it's smart to just follow anything with blind loyalty.

If they are open, listen to members views and take action then they get my money.

If they try to deflect & not take the hard questions at the AGM then they lose me.

Yes of course i will, i love our club.

I have made some great friends, who are like family to me. We have been members for over 20 years, and like all demon, members/supporters, we are, also gutted seeing our great club fall into a heap this year.

I heard David Neitz on sen a few weeks ago, and he was saying how the 666 rule has hurt us this year, but then said it can be fixed. Also said we should have a near to full list who will be able to a full pre-season.

So have faith guys we can turn it around.

Though i understand it ive never been the type to particularly  matyr myself to this kind of immovable  position.

Quite frankly i value my time ...and money. Though , as many will/would,  I follow the Dees and could never anotherI really  dont see the enjoyment in suffering. Lots of other things to do and see. Life is short.

Those that  want to put it in terms of bandwagons (  and i dont subscribe. .however ) must surely see unless blind that ours is a old falling apart float from 1964's Moomba parade.  Theres no semblance  of a recognisable tune, the band is way off key, half the instruments are broken and held together with duct tape. The bandleaders wont get into sync and the conductor is busy whispering to the horses pulling this irrelevancy through a lost part of town because his map is old and hasnt been updated.

I would relish that we are brave enough to be brutally honest, clever enough excise that which does not help and grow that which will. That might require very deep and thorough tilling.

If the club doesn't then it will matter little  what I or some others here do as elsewhere 30000 or so might make our views moot.

If you’re currently a member will you renew your membership next season or if you’re not a member would you even consider signing up for next season? Something smells rotten at the club, I don’t know what it is but it was evident after last nights lack of effort/care-factor. If the players can’t be bothered trying, I can’t  be bothered renewing mine and my families memberships next season.

The biggest disappointment for me is the flow on effect from making a Prelim to finishing second last (Gold Coast don’t count as a real team so really, we’re going to finish last). I think we’ll see a significant drop off in members next season after a record number this year. It’s disappointing but I’m over financially and emotionally supporting this basket case of a club. So who’s going to renew?

(I was going to add a poll but the option disappears after the page fully loads).

I'm definitely going to renew my membership along with our 3 kids. Might even sign the wife up.

While I can understand the anger and disappointment, which as a member I share too, I genuinely believe we can bounce back next season and be in contention and every membership and supporter attending games will help. I urge fellow supporters to sign up and signup early as a show of support fr the club - dedicated demon is a good auto renew option. Dees!

I will decide after 4-5 games to see how we come out of the blocks.
If it's the same mindless rubbish ..... No.

x 2.

Auto renew Premium Member for 15 years. If it's more of the same after a month I will cancel my membership. It's a lot of money for no reward.

I would still attend games but GA tickets only.

To all those who will renew, at least make the club earn it. They need to know that the support base has had enough

At least wait until the AGM to hear what the plans are. Don’t give them free money ?

Thanks for telling us what to do with our money.

I will renew the 2 memberships in my household.

No such this as a Melbourne fair weather supporter.
They're all long gone.
I too have been a member for 15yrs and seeing a game is a 7hr round trip.
Can make for some very disappointing drives home.
Haven't wasted my time this year.

Well on Demonland we have mostly die hard, rusted on, desensitised and completely deluded supporters here.  So it is to be expected that most Demondlanders who are members will go around for another round of flagellation. It is the 20-30 odd thousand ones who are not on Demonland who will be more likely to bail out.

Who gives you the right to tell anybody what to do

I'll pay you if you will stop the whingeing and whining

Looking forward to you standing up at the AGM, if you are there of course, and stating your case, as if

I have already asked when I can renew and will be doing so at the first opportunity

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
