Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Remember when we did great vids of players getting the news that they are making their debut..  now we are just photo shopping.

see ya 2019, you have done a number on everyone!

But great to see the young fella get a go, and so he should, gives some interest to the game now and already more keen to watch than i was. Hope he goes well and kicks a couple and injects a bit of much needed spunk and energy to the team, from what i have seen of him, he has that ability. Who misses for him i wonder?

Bullocky good pace, eye for a goal, talent to snap early at goal, confident and accurate kick over acceptable distances. Tough tackler. Small, but hopefully resilient. Well done young man to get a game due to ball movement.

As a matter of interest, how many did we play last year?

was 36 actually.

big difference is though: 16 players played 20 games or more last year.  so the majority of the 22 stayed together all year

Well done Kade on your debut.

A great kid who is small (174 cm) but quick. Noted at U18 for his forward defensive pressure so I can see why he is being tried even if others cannot.

Early season at gate 3 handing out scarves we were swamped and the players who came to just to meet and greet actually hopped in and assisted. If my memory serves me well It was Kade, Billy, Oscar Baker and Jordon or Walker (memory failing). Kade was first to put his hand up and took up a role immediatly at the table with many a supporter being handed their scarve by this young man. Similarly Oscar Baker was assisting organising the queue with Stretch & Jordon was behind the counter unpacking. They stayed way past their scheduled time and impressed me greatly with their character and  willingness to work. Kade looks so young but will now have payed at least 1 game of AFL more than I ever did.

Good to hear. I am a fan of Oscar Baker. I think he has a bit of much needed dash

Anyone think they may be having a look at Chandler with a view to de listing Spargo?

I don’t think we’d make a decision on delisting a player based on a rookie playing one maybe two games. His papers would already be stamped if we were going to delist him.

Like looking at my wife and deciding whether you should go out with Elle MacPherson!

Would suggest they each get judged on their merits.  This Half forward role has eluded us for most of the year, with spargo dropping off.  Don’t know what to make if it, but hope a rest and a pre-season (and a few angry pills) gets him back on track.

Chandler will not stamp Spargo’s ticket. I hope he has a great game and shows us that he belongs.

You are likely correct but a few good games from Weed had the footy dept confident we didnt need to replace Hogan last year.

I thought the vid where Oskar Baker's dad spoke about the boy's mother who passed away was one for the best I've seen.

Dunkley's clip with his brother was pretty good too.

I hardly even noticed Chandler in the 4 games that I watched at Casey. Some VFL players definitely streets ahead.

Good luck to KC but it is a charity game no doubt. Averages 6 possessions and 0.5 goals for Casey.  That’s not even worth a game at Casey.

I thought from the little I’ve seen of Casey that Chandler stood out for pace and creativity.

But he clearly wasn’t getting enough of the ball as it was in brief flashes and then unsighted for long stretches.

What is harder to see watching a game in TV is the ANB style “pressure acts”. If his are high and that’s why he’s playing, I’d be happy with a guy who pressures to keep the ball locked in, and on the rare occasion they get the ball do something reasonably constructive.

Good for Kade and I hope he plays well, but that is a ridiculous decision. Assuming the stats below are accurate, he has kicked 2 goals in the past 6 weeks and has never had more than 8 kicks in a game at VFL level. He comes into the senior side off a game with 5 effective possessions. The bar for getting an AFL game has never been lower.

beginning to think our 2018 drafting was a disaster.

Yeah they were, they were fantastic actually. I understand we have done them this year and some of our content has been the best in the league in my opinion.

I think 2019 has just worn down everyone, including the digital guys.

Waiting to judge his offensive game until we have something that resembles a forward line and he picks up the pace of the game with the ball.

But thought his defensive game was really promising. For once we might have a small forward who understand how to pressure. The proper way to corral, pick your timing and lay a good tackle.

Since I first saw him train I've liked this kids natural footy instincts. Like most small players it won't always be pretty but I think he's got a fair bit to offer.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
