Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I must say I have a soft spot for Frosty, he continues our tradition of, how should I put this... enigmatic key defenders, Prymke, Shanahan, Ingerson, Nicholson, Carroll.

Prymke was not enigmatic. No frills but very effective Centre Half Back cruelled by injury.

Frosty's chase and subsequent jumper destroying tackle on Petrucelle in Perth was probably my number 1 favorite highlight for the year!

It was undoubtedly mine as well. I was at the ground and never have I roared " Ball!!!" with quite that ferocity.

Outstanding athlete. Still maturing as a footballer and has more work to do on decision making and execution.

Encourage to use his pace and take the game on but work hard on decision making to capitalise on his metres gained.

Having a fit May and Lever around him on most occasions will benefit him greatly.

I think this is the key next year, put strong leaders next to him who tell him where to be and when to go, even where to kick too. May and Lever are very vocal, which suits a guy like Frost and hopefully over a pre-season they'll all know each others games a lot better and build the trust a strong back 6 needs.

What a mess our year really was when i had more faith in Frosty  than i did most of our players. Its a credit to him though and a slight on the rest of our team.

I love his competitiveness and want to do well, others could do far worse than applying those traits when its not going well for you. Never once did i see him give up. Should finish top 5 in our BnF IMO.

Must hold onto him.

Just has the be the chase-down of the century, or very close to such. His pace for this type of football is unique and really effective. Such a clean despatch of the fast Eagle - almost sad if Frost's workrate was not so exceptionally good - and a very clear example of why Frosty is a very useful, and wanted, player for the Dees. Furlongs ahead, as mentioned by a poster, earlier.

The promising thing is he's learning.

Going back 2 years ago he was a ball watcher and unaccountable at times.

He's fixed that.

This year, his disposal has been gradually improving. Last half of the year his kicks have been shorter and more direct to a team mate most times.

He's lowering his eyes now.

He should be a gun by the end of 2020 if we're not rabble.

Great news.

Absolutely, and it will be an enormous lift for the whole team: reliable defence, committed attack at the ball, solid interceptions, launching-pad for rebounds and setting examples for the rest of the football field.

I drove him in a taxi in the early 90's and asked why he wanted to leave Melbourne. He basically said he felt he'd gone as far as he could at the Demons, that he needed a change.

Sorry Stigga, but Ingerson is an absolute class above any KPD that has played with or after him at our club (May TBD)

Ingerson was something very special - his defensive reliability was tremendously valuable, with possessions taken by hook or by crook establishing a 'wall' of intent on the backline.

Frosty has been nominated as the club's 'Most Courageous' player by his team mates.  It is part of the MV player awards.  MVP Nominees

He is quite fearless, how he throws himself around.

Quite an honour.  Nothing better than respect from teammates.

Agree, to an extent.

Lever's poor kicking is a real worry as really you can only carry one poor kick in the back half as turnovers from there almost always result in a scoring opportunity.

Hibberd and hore are also average kicks who turn it over too often.

All of which means frost's poor kicking is even more an issue.

For us oldies (I was only 7) but this now smells of 1981 when we had it won before Botham pulled the test out his backside ( Lillee and Marsh won a small fortune on the punt). If we won that test we retained the ashes and after losing we just imploded, can see it happening here as they are on paper pretty even.

Great news.

Go back and check Alex Rance first 4-5 years and Dylan Grimes first 4-5 years and what the Richmond supporters said about those 2, I can tell you first hand it was similar to the things many have said about Frost on here. This year has been the first year of greater consistency.

They too (in particular Rance) made horrific skill errors at times between some terrific athletic defence in their first half dozen years in the system (Rance too was tried forward and on a wing in his first 3-4 years at times as they were worried about his brain implosions and horrible skill errors).

I think like those 2, Frost will continue to improve his skills and decision making as he works out what he can and cant do well and his role in the team becomes clear with May and Lever.

Don’t show this too widely.

Was told a couple of games back that Frosty loves being at the Club but felt that his game had improved and that it should be reflected in his contract offer. I like so many others love his enthusiasm but my heart still stops when he gets the ball waiting momentarily to see what he will bring. Thankfully there have been fewer of the car crashes this year. Glad that it looks like a compromise has been reached or the Club has recognised his improvement this year.

Gets better ever time I watch this. I love how the ball bounces in Frosty's lap and he takes off while his opponents is still wondering what hit him.

Earl lost about $200K in a sports store in Malvern Central. MFC was skint and offered Earl $40K so he saw Ian Collins at Carlton. He asked “How much do you need” and wrote out a cheque for $200K - problem solved!

not worried about levers kicking. he's all class, just down on confidence like the rest of the team this year. he just needs an uninterrupted pre-season at this point and he'll be fine.

I thought he moved across because Carlton drafted his younger brother and he wanted to play with him. Scott Spalding didn't last long from memory....

And we would not play him at CHF and only saw him as a beckman. He thrived at Carlton up forward, we got that one wrong.

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
