Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Not much mystery. Broke his collarbone. Came back via twos. Given he didn't miss much footy it is surprising he is not in given his form rgis season. I assume it is because lever has the intercept marking role.

Poor omission

What's the bet JFK plays 4 blinding games to close out the season, earns himself another 2 years on the list and a step closer to MFC life membership with 48 games.

I can hear the howling already, but Oscar wasn’t that bad last year and in those first 2 finals.

I wonder if there is a reason we don’t know about, why he has been so poor this year.

I would still like to see him put on 6-8 kgs of muscle over summer and maybe have a go up forward before we give up on him.

I recall many had Frost delisted last year and he has improved quite a bit this year. In a settled back 6, which we haven’t had all year, he would be even better.

Generally agree but not on the big talls. Put it down to just being very disgruntled with how it has all turned out and you must admit some of efforts last week looked half hearted and his unforced errors were concerning.

Once he has (hopefully) an injury free run at it, we'll all see good this bloke is

He's still a good defender though with his reading of the play and intercept ability.

Rance isn't fantastic 1 on 1 either (better than Lever yes) but his reading of the play and ability to float to contests at the right time setting up rebounds is what makes him so valuable

Good to see we are carrying on with the ridiculous changes - why change a season long habit at this point?

Two defenders come out so we bring in four forwards. I assume that means Fritsch will play back again, which is utterly stupid given his recent form. Yet we have Hore sitting in the VFL.

No issue with Oscar playing - at least he can get on the field most weeks, which is more than can be said for May and Lever.

Tim Smith must be the most fragile human this side of the bubble boy. What's wrong with him this week - broken fingernail, chapped lips? Surely he is done as an AFL footballer.

Are the club going to pull out the same utter BS about Jetta's unrelated knee injuries again? It is indisputable that we played him injured earlier in the season which led him to missing 10 weeks or so of football. We brought him back too early and now he is out again. Utterly pathetic. Put him in cotton wool for the rest of the year and get him right for round 1 next year.

Kennedy-Harris finally gets another chance after being brought back too early against Adelaide. Yet again, terrible player management. At this point he has to better value than Neal-Bullen, but why has it taken him two months to get the switch made? That said, why haven't we given ANB a different role at some point to get him more involved in the play.

Maybe they are trying to keep him away from the play lest he gives it straight back to the opposition....

I think plenty of us do know about it there are just some that won't acknowledge he is not AFL standard.

I agree O Mac was sufficient last year and did his job in the finals. (the West Coast final was a training drill which didn't constitute a final).

However he hit rock bottom last week letting Josh Bruce (or was he on Membrey) running amok and that pathetic hanball to nobody which directly resulted in a St Kilda goal.

There must be a reason. Does he feel insecure out there when T Mac doesn't play?

Give me a spell. Agree if may was fit he would have gone out (and said as much in my post) but you can't pin Bruce's goals on omac. One maybe but he got lace out delivery for at least one goal (after a woeful turnover),  omac was not on him all game and at least one was a result of lever not spoiling and if iirc another was from a throw in when Smith was clueless and Bruce grabbed it from the air and snapped the easiest of goals.

If he was as poor as you think dazzler he would not have been picked this week. They had hore they could bring in and petty (who by the way is no forward) who could go back. But they have stuck with omac.

Obviously you and many others disagree with goody but without trying to be disingenuous or dismissive he is an AFL coach, would have analysed his performance so is better placed than us to objectively assess omac's performance last week. And has picked him to go up against lynch or reiwoldt (i suspect lynch).

Believe it or not not every thing is OMac's fault.

T%hank you, the hysteria surrounding the bloke is getting ridiculous. He had 11 1 % last week which indicates he did a lot of "team" things. He made mistakes, but tell me a player who did not. One of Bruces goal could not have been stopped by SIlvangi at his peak., the quality of the delivery to him. Lever caused another by wanting to be a hero and surely Omac cannot be responsible for a ruck ocntest when he is not the designated one.

The absolute balls up in the fwd line after a really good ball movement by hand down the ground was more ridiculous than many of the things that Omacis beoing pilloried for.

Give him a breal.

I suppose we can go to the game with an ambivilance about it. Winning and losing don't have the same attractions to it. What I look forward to is a couple of frostemite efforts where he will outmark Lynch and then run off for 25 meters and kick it 5 meters onto a Richmond chest. Or oscar looking stoned in the goal square as his opponent is 20 meters in front marking the ball.

Does anyone honestly look at Richmond’s team with any fear? I don’t think I ever have, including when they have Rance and Cotchin running around. This week is no different.

They have an obviously superior forward line which will probably be the difference, but I look at that team on paper with no sense of fear.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
