Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

On the basis of our pattern of play throughout the entire season, this is one of the few games left which we could possibly win. However, if the Saints dictate the way the game is played as they did earlier in the season and we do nothing to resist their style, it’s going to be a long evening.

Other than TMac (stinker of a season) May (alway injured) Melksham & Van Den Berg (never plays) this is about as good as a Melbourne side can be. The perennial excuse of injuries doesn’t withstand scrutiny as many of our other injured players are B grade. This really is a winnable game and the club, coach and team really should be held accountable if they don’t. For that reason I think they will win. If they don’t it really confirm how seriously bad we are and why Gary Lyon assessment is so accurate. If we lose it hard to see us winning another game. Only Suns ineptitude saving us from the spoon. No wonder people laugh at you or feel sorry for you when you say your a Dees supporter. Since 1967 I have been a member what a hellish club to support but once your hooked there no changing.

In a way you have to feel for Goodwin a young coach who walk into a seriously cursed club with a life long flawed culture. If Goodwin stay then for god sake revamp the assistants around him a bigger bunch of no names I have ever seen. At a club level push to get our facilities sorted it an indictment on the AFL that every club has state of the art facilities for players and admin except the foundation club of the game. With talk of Suns getting handout who have incredible post Comm games we are getting left behind. Maybe there should be a protest march to AFL house to get some equality.

Message is sound though. We're a mediocre club that is the joke of the AFL from top to bottom. The fact that the oldest club has no home or soul is pathetic.

Not long before I board the tin pigeon and make my way over. I’m expecting airport staff at Tullamarine are arranging the red carpet as I speak.

This is the last game I will attend live in 2019 and I demand victory.

Seriously though, I’m over “line in the sand” games. I am truly at the stage where I am embarrassed to be a Demons fan. I started barracking for this club in 1966 after coming back to Australia with my family as an 11 year old from Canada (left at age 4).

I’ve followed this team through thick and thin. Enjoyed the rare good times and graciously accepted the bad but this year has been something else. I believe last year was a fluke and 2019 has clearly revealed our lack of skills, depth and quality coaching. Yeah, injuries didn’t help but hand balling to targets and kicking for goal are the most basic of fundamentals and these guys are professionals? Gimme a break please....

Behind closed doors, the handful of talented players we do have must be having second thoughts about staying with the club. We are a train wreck and frankly I’ve had enough. I will still follow the team but sadly the passion I once had has gone. I won’t be renewing my membership any time soon. Thanks to all at the Melbourne Football Club. I hope you are happy with yourselves.

I shall be adventuring through Kakadu today surrounded by my many faithful acolytes

I doubt I shall hear much of the game but I fully expect to hold a victory celebration at Caravanserai Bitter

The Aints are nothing special and the glow of that new coach euphoria will wear off like post coital charm

Today is TV, with Tour de France as backup if things get rough (as noted by the dog having enough and leaving the room for less stressful sleeping places).  Marvel is a soul-less hole to watch football.

demons to find a way to win (May have something to do with getting it between the  2 bigger of the 4 poles stuck in the ground).  28 points.

It was interesting watching the tigers last night.

Most of their players go to the contest but as soon as they win the ball the spread and gut run to where they need to be and play their part in the link in getting the ball forward. They all seem super fit and on the same page with the game plan. They also provide a lot of pressure too

Melb could learn a lot from watching them play.

Line in the sand game.

Gawn can’t win these games by himself, god knows he’s tried. Get it done.

Ha ha that was at the start of the season and look how that’s worked out!

That mental mind game doesn’t seem to work with us maybe because it’s been a problem for many seasons and still needs to be addressed.

Im predicting a win today.

Not a one sided, running-away-in-the-last kind of win... I predict a win that has us falling over the line by less than a goal, followed by the team singing the club song like they just won a Finals game. Goody will then post a video with a smug grin, talking about us having "the will and the want" today. Many fans will also feel flat because of the lack of quality in said win.

Dees by 3 points.

Because 2019

Do you have a go at people when they barrack at the footy. This is not an English class.

I am a little intrigued as to why  Kade Kolodjashnij is rarely mentioned as missing from the team. Does anyone think when fit he would be playing at AFL level and potentially a better player than some that Melb have been fielding?

I think he ‘could’ be best 22, but has not established himself as such yet.  With all the concussion and neck issues, he was always a risk.  Shows the club knew the importance of run, even last year.  I believe if he plays a few games and shows something, he might change our perceptions and we might believe he is best 22 material.

Are you kidding? Goodwin was gifted an up and coming side with great club administration and sound fundamentals as a team. He is effectively in his 4th year and has had an armchair ride yet we have not eliminated some of the basic skill errors we have been committing for years. His game style or brand has been shown to be easy to coach against and aside from a good 4 weeks last year, we have been incredibly flaky and weak against top sides, particularly defence.

Yeah, gotta feel for him.

How about feeling for supporters who have been putting up with cr*p for decades.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
