Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Being in Alice we do not have to put up with the 'Boo Stadium' crowd blaring thru our tv sets.

Their premiership backline vs our non-existent/inexperienced forward line is a scary proposition?

We dealt with boo stadium last season and this season silenced them till they got a late goal giving them hope in the 3rd.

I agree Barass, Mcgovern, Hurn from the flag plus Shepherd are a tough ask

I think Goodwin has great potential as a coach, but there is a growing concern with his sheer stubbornness that even has his former mentor quietly fuming behind the scenes.

Are you ready to join the dark side.. come across to the thread that will probably outgrow the Watts and Hogan have to go /stay discussions

Agree... Lewis has no place in this team.. (respect his ability by the way)

Haha what thread is that mate?

And to be honest, I don't mind Lewis playing, he made the best comments this week on Fox Footy when he said something like 'Finals may be out of reach, but how you treat these games is how you setup for next year' (paraphrasing). That kind of comment, combined with his intent the last couple of games is why I don't mind him out there right now. My problem is that you're either in or out. You either set up the culture, or you just stick with the Goody way.

If anyone's heading up for the game and plans to attend the open training, please consider sticking around to lend some support for the VFLW girls. They're far from home!

We're playing NT Thunder who have some of the best from Adelaide's premiership side. For Casey, it's a must-win game and they've named the maximum 12 AFLW-listed players in the team for the first time this season.

Fingers crossed for both games!

I like how we bring in a (either) Wagner then the next week they’re out, rinse and repeat.

I found this website on the Wandering Wagners... sounds like we need their help

Our goal is to help as many people as we can, whether it's big or small, so tell us what we can do!

If you are struggling with anything in your life, just send us an email and ask for help. Sometimes it's hard to speak out to your friends and family about the problems that you are having, but maybe we can help?

your words

Yeah, which I explained in my next post where I said you're either all in or all out.

ie - You play Lewis because culture is important, but then you don't have integrity at selection, so you're not all in. You don't pick JKH because he's 'not the future', but then you play Lewis who is about to retire, so you're not all out.

Does that make more sense now?

Does anyone actually think we will get close this weekend?

Not just due to club loyalty.... i mean does anyone genuinely think we have a chance?

This could easily be our worst loss for the year. These 2 teams are currently miles apart, even with West Coke off the boil.

It will be ghastly to watch imo.

Yep, I do

DiO you are a credit to our AFLW team.  You regular updating of the DL Women's Forum with VFLW games and happenings reflects a lot of work.  Thank you.

Extraordinarily poor bench. Only Baker and perhaps Lockhart deserve to be there.

Corey Wagner has played 5 games and been dropped 3 times, Smith has played six games and been dropped / or injured 3 times. Josh Wagner at least has only been dropped twice in 10 games, but was lucky to get a few of those. I can't understand what we hope to achieve by playing any of these guys.

As much as I want the team to play well and pick up some wins over the last six weeks, I fear that only a couple of massive losses on the way home will finally stir Goodwin from his slumber.

Has there been a week this season where we read ‘ No Change’? Can’t recall. I don’t think it will happen this week with at least Baker getting a run again.

A bit late to ask for a settled line-up but at least the defence is getting some work together and I feel they will do a good job at restricting the Eagles scoring. Problem is, unless we magically start converting and taking our chances at the other end this could be a long day.

No. i think the last 6 weeks will be awful. i cant see us wining another game and i think we will look back on this year and consider it worse than any we had in the Neeld years and any since. Neeld didnt have much of a list to be honest, this list made a prelim and teh fall has been brutal.

Nah he wasn't, which made it even more impressive from a leadership perspective. He could have just mentally checked out and gone into celebration mode for his last few games, but instead he's focused on trying to set up our culture and future.

Deserves better treatment from some Dees fans than he gets.

I reckon we can match them in the middle with Gawn again to dominate. Our backs should keep them to 12 -14 goals. The BIG Q is how are we to kick 14-16 goals. Not likely unless we start a couple of hours early then we will still miss the goals and turn it over !! The other way is for the AFL to give us a 3-5 goal start!. Can only hope we give it a big effort.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
