Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Just think we could have has a suburban coach, President and CEO for the past 6 years and be in much the same position. It is mind boggling. many will criticize but Roos for 2-3 years was always a desperate move.

Roos was a great move.

The one that followed, not so much

consider:

A good chef with a sound knowledge of food can conjour an incredible meal with the most basic ingredients....because he understands it.

The same chef with rubbish ingredients will struggle....but he/she will cook according to what is before them.

A good recipe can work ok with average ingredients if the cook knows what hes doing.

A very poor recipe will yield something totally unpalatable irregardless of who's cooking simply because it's flawed.

If you have a very mediocre cook...no chef...and Ok ingredients but a poor recipe you will always get crud.

I say time and time again....our demise is by design.

Liam Henry is the top indigenous small forward in this years draft who made AA. Exactly what we need. Yes he is Freo academy player so we will need to bid what they won’t pay but he is what we need.

Really worried about Brayshaw too, hasn’t looked remotely interested all year.

Just doesn’t look happy.

Because even underdone they are better than the scrubs at Casey? Because we keep getting injuries to other players creating a gap in the side.

Lever had done enough training and games, just have to get him back in and live with some mistakes and lack of footy.

Jetta was rushed in to play limited game time out of the back pocket, at the end of the day he probably wasn't any worse than playing Josh Wagner. Wasn't any better either, but if he's made it through without injuries he'll be better next week for the run at AFL level.

Great move if he gave us 5 years. If not I could take or leave him.

Thought Jetta was terrible today, and yes, even a Wagner would have done better.

Yep, hard to argue he didnt leave before the job was completed. Roos was great for our club but we didnt have him for long enough to make the changes permanent. Our club culture improved each year Roos was involved, but has sadly reverted to its familiar self very quickly once he left.

Goody is out of his depth.

We're a lost cause atm.

Geez the perennial positives go missing when we're in the mud. Nothing to say I guess.

Severe lack of skill and decision making on show again. Harmes really enjoys the AFL lifestyle. Would be cool if he realised that one good season doesn't mean a lot at this level if you don't back it up. Yeh mate, you have abs and a some tough stickers, we get it.

Well, mathematically it was our last chance to make the finals so was worth a last roll of the dice.

Now that it's all over red rover they might put a few players in for early surgeries..

These days I watch our games hoping for a miraculous resurrection and once again I'll see the exciting, free flowing team of last year. Alas, it's not to be. That team has gone like the snows of yesteryear, like the hopes of decent umpiring, like the idea of not handballing at a team mate's feet. Gone, all gone, all lost. Adieu.

Im 51 and also have abs and a tough sticker (Granted, its a tattoo of a cat on my forearm, but its still permanent)

The team needs more than a sense of self-importance to become successful.

We were never free flowing.
Every goal is from a rugby scrum.
Even last year.

They were lucky they got abit of confidence at the pointy end but still made hard work of both winning finals.
Reverted to form over in Perth.

Yes I'm worried about him as well. He doesn't look like the same person as last year. I worry his multiple concussions have affected him adversely. I looked up some info on what these can do to a person. Neuroscientists are discovering concussions can cause new anxiety and can worsen existing anxiety. Concussions can have long term consequences to mental health. This is not a good sign. I hope MFC are looking after him, or we will be hearing about his troubles in the future.

Who was on Dunkley (Josh)?

Aside from the obvious answer "No-one"!

Probably Viney. Saw the ball fly out to the wing from a center bounce. 7 players sprinted after it, Viney walked after it. Unforgiveable

Look petty looked good up forward and he should take confidence from today.

Preuss needs to practice his marking. He dropped a few doozies today.

May, the more I see the more I think next year after a full pre season where he won't be overweight he will be so good for us.

Max  i am sure will be asking questions about the supposed ruck infringements.

We missed tackles, goals fritta please explain why you played on when you had time.

One day petracca will play 4 quarters

Begs belief how Petracca is never able to impact in Q4. Mission has a lot to answer for.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
