Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

One thing that really annoys me is that after last week Goodwin and Co were talking up the fact that there was better connection between midfield and forwards. That disconnect still clearly exists, countless times we did look away bombs or kicking it to positions that weren’t in our favour.

Our midfield has gone from looking like a 8/10 stunner to a donkey. I don’t know what’s happened to Gus but all the poise and good play he had last year has completely left him. Oliver is still over handballing and when he does kick it it’s generally not great. A typical game from Petracca today, kicks 2 early goals and barely seen after that. And Viney, I just wonder if he is carrying something, looks half a meter off the pace.

Give Gawn the week off, Preuss had a good game for Casey and the season is officially done. No point in risking him.

Looking at the positives it can no longer be paraded that we have been unlucky and time will sort this. Our list is dreadful and while Goodwin is coach we wont improve. There need to be serious change and the club need to accept that fact. When Roos left I had my doubts about Goodwin he is another Neeld. The whole board should also hang there head in shame. This just goes on year after year with the same crap spun to supporters. Who could have any confidence we won’t finish last next year where that bad. This is not just about one player but about a club culture that has existed for 50 years.

Our list isn't dreadful it's just lacking a little quality around the edges. Just 1 good small forward and a hard runner on the wing would make a huge difference.

Goodwin was the same coached who improved us 3 years in a row but nice story about him being another Neeld.

Too many MFC players didn't want the ground ball today and instead played/sweated the man, often running straight past the contest.  Some of our boys didnt want it and most of the Lion mids and others did.

Soft as butter and oh so predictable from Goody & Co.

The only thing that's changed is we've changed a few coaches.

It's the same crash bash 'numbers at the contest' manic game style under Goody that will never win many matches unless you have your top 20 to 22 players in and playing at their best and in peak fitness.

Three more years of this trash?  The MFC hierarchy will no doubt keep towing the improvement/development line during the entire tenure, hoping the fans will take the bait!

Spot on where being sold a lemon.

High risk with only very moderate reward, due to mind blowing turnovers and skill errors. Having said that, Clarrie and Viney were being held at EVERY centre bounce. Not one free kick. Harmes tunnelled just before the break - “play on” from maggot 14. 20 seconds later the soft push in the back - thanks maggot 2 who then warned Frosty not give away 50. Gil really has got the game in good shape.

It’s been the same problem all season.

Cant kick or handball and hit a target or we handball to a teammate who has 3 players on his hammer.

It doesn’t matter who we have playing for us if we can’t improve our skills.

The  lads showed how desperate they are to salvage something from the season. A cracking 36 tackle effort. Very proud of the team again.

It is, and always has been, a bridge too far for people playing for this club to scrap and fight for wins to drag this club up from being a genuine embarrassment.

Sorry, 36 tackles is an appalling effort!

No team is competitive let alone win with that sort of non-pressure and let the op have easy ball.

One of the most bizarre coaching decisions was leaving Petty on Hipwood after 3 qtr time and then one out on Cameron in the last qtr..

Brisbane did a great job of dragging Petty deep by taking Frost, Hore and others to the contest. The Cameron one was definitely a swap over.

It's the 2nd week in a row that the match up Petty was bought in to play on disappeared by half time.

Last week he was set for Cox but Hogan went down, this week big Oscar went off. Instead of an inexperienced tall he's stuck either tracking a dangerous tall or a quick small. With Max injured having to play forward and lack of flexibility from the tall forwards it meant he had to stay on a mismatch.

I'm disappointed he hasn't played better but it's crazy to be critical of Goodwin playing him when we needed the tall and there isn't any other options.

Agreed, it almost seemed like tanking, oops I meant "development". Hopefully Petty can take some learnings from the football lesson he got taught today and apply them in the bush leagues somewhere when he inevitably gets delisted. And to think Viney used to shut down players like Joel Selwood. Shadow of his former self.

Anyone know what the 3/4 time spat between May and Frost was about.  Commentators made it sound like May went to town on Frost a bit too long.

Hannans turnover in the centre in the 3rd qrt I think was a massive momentum killer.

Dont think we really recovered from that point onwards.

Again pathetic skills.

We had the handball to petracca's feet which he fumbled, cost certain goal, harmed dropping a mark 40m he should have taken, tmac's pie drop 10m out. They missed easy goals we were too [censored] to even use the opportunity to score! The Hannan switch to no one...

horrible horrible effort.

May thinking Frost did something dumb, Frost thinking May doesn't know what he's talking about seemed the gist.

Nathan Jones casually drinking a gallon of water whilst they went at it. Like last weeks pissweak leadership wasn't bad enough.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
