Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Can't believe we are favourites.

In saying that, we are definitely a chance. Harmes to hard tag Fyfe, Hibberd on Walters. Gawn should be able to massacre Darcy, despite how well he played last week against Ryder and Lycett.

Of course Gawn should give Darcy a touch up however when he feeds the mids they need to look for a red and blue forward instead of bombing the pill. Be a nice change!

interesting to see who mans up on hogan as he plays mostly up the ground and working back, which doesn't suit may as a 'last man back' approach

I thin it'll be a combination of Frost and Lever, Lever when he moves up the ground, he can match him in the air and with the read of the play, while Frost when he goes deeper forward. They only have Cox as another tall forward, so May/Frost will have the right coverage there.

my ins/outs:

TSmith (for TMac), ANB (for Garlett) and Lockhart (for Wagner)

No, they'll bring him in for the last game of the year and he'll no doubt kick 6 just to make a mockery of our  match committee,

IN - Lockhart, T Smith

OUT - Wagner, Garlett or Spargo.

T Mac one last last chance. If the bye hasn't freshened him up physically and mentally he may have to have an indefinite spell in the 2's.

Lock it

FB: Hore   May  Hibberd
HB: Jones  Frost  Salem
C: Stretch  Oliver  Fritsch
HF: Petracca  T Mc  Hunt
FF: Smith  Weid   Lockhart
Foll: Gawn Viney  Harmes
Int: Wagner, Brayshaw, Baker, Hannan

Out: Lever, Spargo, Garlett
In: Smith, Lockhart, Stretch

That's what I'd do. Freo spread like crazy. Getting as many runners through the midfield and wings will be vital to stop their run. So even though he's a limited player Stretch comes back in to run with Langdon or Hill.

Time to give Jones a good run at half back to see if he can reinvent himself. Time to give Smith a fair go at it as the 3rd tall forward to see if that frees up Tom and Sam as it did for parts of the game against the Crows in Darwin. Petracca should get some midfield time as well.

Misson strikes again.

I said a few months ago that he would destroy the club on his way out the door, and hes proving me right.

What about MFC start now with some honest communication with supporters. Why the cat and mouse finding out now. It appears now that he was no chance for this week.

Hogan has been very, very average this year. Apart  from this last week, of course. Just in time for his game against us...

Hogan to kick 6 on May and hammer the final nails to seal our 2019 season coffin. The most fitting finale of all.

I wonder whether the coaching re-shuffle will also see some immediate player changes? Will, for example, Rawlings seek to make a statement by changing the mix in the forward line?

Most probably there will be changes - and there are some alternatives worthy of consideration.

Tim as a forward goes looking for the ball, and is more frequently finding it - a great sign. TMac needs a rest, recuperation and respite. Lever should not play with a foot injury. ANB is a must, given Jeffy's form. Wagner could stay in. Lockhart needs to come in. Viney or Jones need to stay out to reduce 'bombing'. Time to bring in Preuss as a forward. Gus to the centre, and Clarrie to deep forward. Stretch and JKH could alternate on a wing and into a midfield roving role. Frosty to play at CHB and feed to midfielders or deeper fwd if he can get a run. Big demand this week on Tracca, Hunt and Harmes - mobility will be everything with these guys.

I'd like to see tsmith play on Ryan, while still going for the ball. He's been there best intercept player so stopping him is a must

That is the most quintessential Melbourne loss ever.

1. Key small forward left alone on his correct side for an uncontested snap shot on goal to bring them within striking distance? Yep!

2. Our last hope for a shot on goal taken from 20 meters almost directly in front, but misses? Yep!

3. Easy opposition transition forward to win the game in the dying seconds? Yep!

4. Let down by a leader with a lazy free kick/possession/lack of awareness? Yep!

Frequently dropping it too. Has Bull ever worn a glove? Might seem like an obvious and dumb idea, but.. just maybe it could give him a little edge in "catching" them like McGovern does with his sticky hands. Borrow Jayden's, he surely doesn't need em!

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
