Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

You are correct Ethan. They cannot piggy back or intentionally lift a teammate or pyramid up to increase the chances of touching the kick for goal. Having said that, I'd like them to try the Aussie Eurovision contestant's balancing pole

That is not positive - Preuss is needed.

We play better with him in the side imo. Gives us something different up forward and big support for Gawn. He is in our best 22.

Me too dazzler. Always love seeing new players and i didn't like Petty getting only the one game last year. Exciting.

How do you see them playing Petty?

I suspect they may play him as the lose man, goal keeper role Frosty has been playing allowing him to take Darling or Kennedy Kennedy. Good hands and reads the ball well by all accounts. Not sure how good his kicking is but has to be better than Frosty. Gig challenge for Frosty and OMac. If Petty plays well and keeps his spot, one of those players will come out for Lever.

Pretty much just answered for me.

Petty's kicking is very neat and clean. Go watch his under 18s highlights and you will see someone who ises the ball extremely well.

Ok, so what have we done here. A couple of running machines, and a couple to give some flexibility. Preuss is one dimensional. Have a look at Viney’s words during the week, I sense that these lads have a point to prove here. West Coast aren’t travelling all that well, and they bring in a guy who they say will only play 60% game time. Smacks of arrogance. This game will will go down to the wire, and at $3.70, if you have a lazy $200.............

No Preuss, so again maxy will be targeted and without proper ruck support.

That's great.

Our two biggest deficiencies kicking skills and speed, in that order. Petty helps with kicking and Baker with speed.

What about leaping above the man on the mark like trying to  take a hanger.  Line up several blokes to try in turn in case you don't time it right.

I have always wondered why players don't propel teammates in the air as they do in rugby line outs, though instead of lifting them lock their hands together and hoist them up like they do in the circus.. Imagine how high a big fella could fling a little fella.       Would make stopping goals a lot easier.

Is that against the rules?

Gill will have a problem of how the little fella comes back down to earth,  deepleted of Oxygen.

Yep as an emergency.

I don't think we would take him on a long plane flight for note.

As someone has said,  maybe Oscar is out...  or maybe Gawn flays forward.

Maybe de Tracta is out ?

I believe that Preuss could possibly play. Tom Hickiey  WCE is their ruckman and named as an emergengy and could come in to double team with Vardy.  Preuss would have to travel with the team.and could play regardless and he is our insurance for Gawn. Petty to play key back  and Omac to be replaced by Preuss  I hope.   Why would Preuss be an  emergency? How lucky is OMAC?

Can't wait to see Oskar Baker play.

It’s ok the umpires will just give you a warning for it, then the AFL will come out in support of the umpires claiming they made the right call in the spirt of the game, then the AFL will hand a whopping great fine to all the players involved in the pyramid scheme claiming they brought the game into disrepute.

Sounds a lot like our 'not guilty' tanking fine of $500k!

The AFL  may be upset they missed out on the pyramid scheme. Some people made a lot of money from those things in the 80s, from what I remember.

Scrapping the barrel here I fear. Neither Oscar or Harrison have done enough consistently at VFL level to warrant a call up. But these are desperate times so let’s hope they put in blinders or at least contribute.

We excel at going ugly inside 50. The challenge is to get it in quick enough so that the forward line is not clogged up

That's the key element and IMO unless he gets the late call up probably why Pruess may be out.

Need to be winning the ground balls inside 50, Big Pruess lacks mobility and could be a very dewy night in Perth if tonight is any indication

Yep it’s cold here tonight that’s for sure...much colder and more dewy tomorrow night also...looking forward to it.

Agree on Preuss

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
