Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Guys, take the win. It keeps us alive for the season at least for now.

We have l think 6 MFC playing fit at Casey. We now have two more injured. If we can hang on until mid season and perhaps turn 5:6 and get a few players back in the meantime we are still in this.

The side of last year has nor disappeared, but we do have a serious injury list. I was told the other day we had 17 players who had operations over the summer. We have come back underdone and it will take a while to recover.

in past years we usually drop games  we should win. This year we have got out of jail twice. It would be nice though if we see some of the form return from last year.

Whilst it is doubtful we will make finals this year, it is important we come home strongly in the second half of the year. Anything more is a real bonus.

My grumbles about today's game aside (most certainly exacerbated by having to put the family dog to sleep today - a loyal friend for over 15 years), it was a pretty crazy finish to the game. Doesn't matter who you're playing, it's nuts that we scored twice in 50 seconds, and I'm happy that this finally happened in our favour, rather than against. A pleasant change.

Shocking win but you always take it. Well done to Marty Hore for having the composure that seemed to elude every one of his teammates in the forward line. TMac didn't have a great night but he did somethings that I think will give him confidence, though his last set shot was terrible. Still 3 goals is a step ahead.

I can't work out why our efficiency is so god awful, it has to be sorted out.

That was an incredibly bizarre win.

Suns are horrible to play against, seen a few teams really struggle against them. Stewy Dew is the Paul Roos clone in every way.

I'm not sugar coating it, we were poor but going to take the 4 points. Hibberd injury really hurts, hoping Melk can get up

I think people need to relax a little. It’s hard I know, coz we completely butchered the footy going forward tonight. BUT... the stats show a complete domination of the contest. We are in survival mode right now with what we have on the park. We can hang on and jag a few wins, we can have a big second half of the season. We need to sure up the defence as opposition are scoring from their F50. The obvious is the we also need to clean up our f50 entries. We have strarted to avoid bombing the ball, but we still aren’t leading at the ball. McDonald is always behind. I’d be bring in Tim Smith and Preuss.

Things aren’t that bad. If we had have used the ball better it was a 6 goal victory. We didn’t, and as such, failed to capitalise on a complete dominance. We can continue to learn from it. Petracca is a midfielder and te sooner the coaching staff realise this and get rid of the FF dream, the better off he and the team will be. He was so much better after he was moved. McDonald must learn to lead at the ball and play in front. Garlett may be finished. He was so fumbley and constantly looking for frees. Wagner and Hore were solid. Getting better every week.

Anyone who thinks the sky is falling ought to look at the stats and take comfort. If the final piece clicks into place, we are capable of kicking some big scores. Sadly, I reckon that piece was Hogan.

We need to weather the storm in the next month and try to stay alive.

I think Harmes just fluffed the kick.

I thought he might have been pushed off it as he kicked. The kick wobbled so I reckon it was fluffed or miskicked from contact. I'm sure he was having a ping at goal.

I was at the game and it was horrid apart from the last 49 seconds.

Effort all game was great and we tackled well but geez we cannot stop fumbling, dropping marks, missing handballs and continue making bad decisions.  No one seems to know what they need to do. I think we had 344 is50s and only scored 19 times

When gc kicked that goal to go 6 up I was resigned to losing but somehow someway miracles happen. For once we were on the other end of the result.

Brace yourselves cause the good sides over the next few weeks are going to tear us apart

I was also one of the 9k people there and witnessed the worst game of footy I have seen live. Looking forward to a better standard at twin Grand Sons under 14's game  tomorrow. This forward set up is not working. Watched them closely today. TMac is behind too often looking for ball over back expecting our guys to kick it 70 metres every time then when some one led it sailed over. It is a huge problem and whilst we win the ball we MUST fix up our disposals this week or we are in big trouble against WC

Also TMac is dropping most marks and doesn’t play in front whereas last season he always clunking everything.

He even missed the mark in the last 5 seconds in the goal square.

Not sure what the players are putting on their hands but they need to stop.

Would have been more painful if we had lost spirit. Winning very very ugly is better than losing ugly.

Each to their own. Many MFC lounge rooms would have been going bonkers in the last minute and rightly so. Let the coaches work out the bad, enjoy it for a while.

The bottom line is good teams win the close games. We are far from being a good team, injuries continue to decimate us BUT.....

Also, remember, the Suns almost knocked off last year's premieres. In Perth....

Watched helplessly in horror wondering what was happening to the team's skills and decision making, seeing players going off injured and other players looking completely spent, my soul falling deeper into despair, but then handsome Marty Hore saved the day. He must have said to himself, stuff this, and showed those forwards how a goal should be kicked. Well done Marty, congratulations on your first goal ever, it was pure class. TMac finished off the job with a bit of luck which I have never seen go our way, ever. Magical.

Doesn't matter that the rest of the game was below par, to win like that gives belief and confidence to the playing group going forward, something which I believe has been lacking. Good luck to Hibbo. Hope he makes a speedy recovery.

What was the Lewis injury and is it long term? Take it to the draft.

Seriously though, that was terrible, but a good result. Good teams find a way to win ugly when they're out of form and I reckon that's the last frontier for us. I can see us kicking on from here. We'll beat the Weagles.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
