Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

He won’t be able to see it below his fat guts, but yeah, he will be.

Farcical really. Call me a grinch, but that level of joy inside the coaches box and on the field is nauseating. No way did we deserve to win that.

Hope this doesn’t keep the scrutiny off our backs.

You are a grinch and I hope you find joy in something

I watched it with my younger brother. We were literally holding each other, trembling, the last minute. In all seriousness, it’s taken me so long to post because we’ve only just let go. My heart is still pounding.

What a win! It’s usually games like this we throw away. So many games I’ve seen the past few years where we were in front and the other team caught up and managed to steal a win. Its usually the opponents who steal a win like that. Thought it was over when GC kicked that goal, but for once, we stood up where it counted and never gave up. One of the best finishes I’ve ever seen to what was a mostly average game. Great to see Jones back in firm.

Now we’re ordering pizza and going to have celebration drinks.

Go Dees!

I’m with you Cassie, I’m surprised at the negativity here, imagine if we had lost! That last 49 seconds showed huge growth with our group, we stole a win, go Dees! Flag’s up 2 weeks in a row

Yes, you’re being a grinch. What you saw from the box was “very pleasant surprise” - if you reckon we all kicked the cat after that last Gold Coast goal, they’d have been  fuming. Coaches are usually competitive beasts, they want to win. Of course they’re going to celebrate when they win when it looked like they wouldn’t with 00:01 on the clock.

did you listen to the call dees ?

Only after we'd won.  I hate listening to the radio without being bale to see whats happening. I sat at the computer checking the scores every now and then. I thought it was going to be a draw and came back to check to see we got the behind.

But that last passage of play was great and well done to maxy for not only getting the hit out but just bombing it into the forward line and also to harmsy for getting the ball forward and tommy for having the smarts to just get it through and not trying to pick it up.

The fact we managed to score twice in the last 50 seconds is a miracle.

Look we are one game and % out of the 8. We are still alive. We won lets bank it and hope we play better next week because we will need to.

Onya coach, me too. I’m honestly shocked to jump on to Demonland to a funeral-like response, I thought I’d be sharing the love with fellow Dees fans. Guess I should know better by now.

finally, another optimist, this website can turn into a dark hole of cynicism when things aren't going our way, but the fact is, we bloody won!!!!!!!! time to celebrate :)

Well I must be the only one who’s stoked. Yes the game was a bucket of pus, but I wasn’t expecting anything but. We’re not contenders this year, we knew that.

I still like winning above all else, and we did. I jumped through the roof at the end as if it mattered.

Nup, totally with you Nasher. I’ll never be disappointed with a win. Yes there are degrees you can be happy with the performance but come on.

I was on the verge of a coronary in my living room much like the WC game in Rd 22 and the elation when T-Mac nailed that post. You forget the context of the game in moments like that.

As mentioned before, well aware of our predicament. That can be tomorrow’s problem. For the people that just can’t wait that long maybe 1 hours time’s problem.

Not in my house Nasher, we are all celebrating the win, awesome 49 seconds! From absolute disgust to absolute elation, quite exhausting really

Marty Hore is a beauty and l have said it before.  TMAC 3 goals and the winning point he is starting to show form.

One of the worst games of football  but who cares we WON that is what counts.

Goldcoast pushed the Wce away late and lost by 3 goals  so it wasn't going to be a give me game.

I am going to enjoy the weekend although it would have been miserable if we had been beaten.

Winners are grinners  and loses can please themselves.

We kept going despite several players clearly injured....Gawn, Melksham Hibberd etc.....we were out on our feet. Yes it was horrible, but we never gave up. TMac was interviewed by Jeff White after the game. He said they practiced and practiced all pre season for just such a senario where they were having to score a goal with less than a minute to go. He said it worked just how they wanted it to....and in fact it worked twice.

but you name a team that has won a game down by 6pts with 47s left in the last few years.

Gawn was huge in that last 47s, as was Oliver, Viney, Harmes and sort of Tmac.

centre clearance with a chaos ball around the body...  and a Hunt aerial contest...  and stretch and Harmes break away from the contest,  ball to the goal-square and TMc contests, keeps his feet and gets a slipper onto it...  enough for a WIN.

We're still,  Alive Alive O...  Hose`

Ok boys get it out of the centre as quick as possible, crash a pack and get a handball away to your running team mate, then run inside 50 and kick to your team mate who is standing on his own.

The next bit and I cant stress this enough, drop an uncontested mark.... the opposition will think they've got it, then BANG soccer the ball but not through the goals, straight into the post.

Game.

From flag favorite to beating Gold Coast by a point with 1 second on the clock.

All game I as accepting the season was over. So much so that the winning kick was barely greeted with a grunt.

We are still the Dees of the 1970's

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
