Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Is that beer half full OR half empty?

Owner was sculling this before he saw some sleazy paparazzi (since identified as a Tom someone or other) in the bushes taking snaps & he quickly slapped the cap back on!

He was half full but after spotting the published photo says he's feeling a tad empty and 'May' need a hair of the dog prior to his next visit to the club.

When asked what club he was referring to the owner became annoyed responding ...

"whichever allows me a free reign to eat, drink, eat again and be merry and where the only laps I'll be running are from the bar to the dunny and back to the bar again...now could you please bugger off and let me finish what i started!".

Nash you probably didnt see my post from the "Lewis is cooked...." thread on Sat after the match against the Hawks.  Here is the end bit...

P.S.  Jordy should be on the D'land banner ....in place of May who's done zip for this club so far (assuming that IS May in the middle).

Edited Saturday at 10:52 PM by Rusty Nails

If i may mention one other key difference between  Jordy and May that should see Jordy replace May on the banner...

4 time Premiership player, Club B&F 2014, All Australian 2014 ... and...

CHARACTER

I've edited it for ya instead mate.

Look he was at the pub from 2:30 in the arvo until 6. In that 3.5 hrs how many beers did he consume. I don't know the policy but I would have thought when you turn up to your new club unfit and you get suspended then play 1 game and hurt yourself you would want to be doing everything right to get back asap. He is 27 not 19. He should know what is the right thing to do for his rehab and fitness.

This guy hasn't proven anything to his teammates yet. It's annoying that we pay him a high salary yet you have these younger players like Lockhart who are so desperate to play afl footy that he busts his guts out and does the hard yards. Now he is playing seniors because he has done the hard work. May may have tall the talent but so far he hasn't shown us.

We have a good weekend and now he has put the negative spotlight back on us. Wake up! You have had no success at your old club. Maybe try and get some here.

I suggest he puts his head down at training and start training pretty hard.

Poor form by May.  To me it seems that he is putting himself above the Club, and that's exactly the sort of culture / behavior I don't want to see at my Club..

I'd like to agree with you but then why is he apologising?

Assume it's because he has agreed with the team to do every little this possible to lift to the standards required to be elite including staying off the P15s...

We’re sponsored by Johnnie Walker. Yet he’s very publicly drinking pints of mid strength beer.

It’s not a very good look to be honest, and I completely understand why he needs to apologise to the entire playing group.

Next time he’ll know to whack down an entire bottle of scotch, rip Tom Morris a new one for publishing undercover pics and generally ratting on him, before being filmed inhaling illicit substances off the bar, and then resisting arrest by a team of cops just outside the pub during which time he does his ACL.

In short, do it properly next time Steven. We’re a hard edged club these days.

What a completely lame ‘breaking story’.

Not just the salary, we traded Hogan for this bloke. I'm honestly not overly concerned about a few beers, it's turning up at the club out of shape that pisses me off. Hopefully he lifts his game. He is a gun, just has to actually give a [censored].

Yep hes been battling through a relationship break down. It has been very hard on him and no excuse but contributing factor to a few things. Roosy, the club and most journos out there know this.

The club has and is putting they're arms around him. The meeting tomorrow is a non issue

Gutter Journalism to a good bloke having a rough time.

Beer is full of dextrose, which is a simple sugary carb which can help with recovery post-intense exercise, it also contains electrolytes and plant based nutrients. Clearly he just had an intense workout and was having a recovery session. He should be praised for his dedication.

Thanks ash.   I'm sorry to here that news.

This could put a totally different view/approach to his situation, and the injury...  if it is one ?

Maybe he's missing games for a different medical reason,?  other than injury.?

His ridiculous preseason suspension now seems like such a sliding doors moment.

He was busting his backside on the track and looking good, had a hamstring that he rehabbed and was probably going to fine going in to round 1.

Now it's looking like a wasted season.

New recruits needs some friends in the playing group, that's what I'm seeing.

A few beers once in an 8 week rehab block wouldn't hurt. The no alcohol in rehab is really designed to assist short turnarounds from short term injuries.

He should've been out on Saturday night with the players and been allowed a few drinks with them. A few beers on Saturday night probably wouldn't have impacted Monday's rehab running session. A good club makes smart rules that are inclusive of all players rather than strict standards that are just sitting ducks to be failed and then generate negative press.

How I detest that imp. Can't believe the club briefly employed him.

People are actually outraged that he had a couple of sunday pints? You should be deported.

Next headline:

"Steve May to front the playing group over an incident over the weekend in which in engaged in sexual intercourse outside of the missionary position. Reports also seem to suggest he went two weeks without calling his mum. More to follow."

He was there for three and a half hours, leaving at 6pm, and had ‘several pints.’ The definition of several is ‘more than two but not many.’ And there’s the possibility said beers were mid-strengh and low carb, even if they were full strength, what’s the actual issue here?

Tom Morris is an absolute hack.

No brainer ... he presented poorly at preseason & now in rehab missing most of first 1/2 of the season .. as a former captain & leader would you not want to prepare & be 100%?? FYI shouldn’t be drinking whilst in rehab .. appears has poor behaviours & we gave up a lot for him. His actions show poor respect for his teammates & the club along with their supporters.

May needs to learn very quickly that the spotlight and media attention in Melbourne is very, very different to anything he’s ever encountered on the Gold Coast.

He should be talking to Daniel Cross about recovery techniques to get him back as quickly as possible, I highly doubt sinking mutiple pints on a Sunday arvo would be a part of it. I’m not necessarily saying footy players shouldn’t be allowed to drink a beer every now and then but when you’ve had an inauspicious start to your career at a new club and already had your professionalism called into question I’d imagine you’d want to do everything in your power to put your best foot forward.

If he really wants to buy into the club he should be at Casey supporting his teammates. I’m hoping that will be one of the first directives that his teammates say to him, if he’s not going to be home recovering he should be supporting his teammates at Casey.

And he should be ditching the booze for the foreseeable future. Get some bloody professionalism Steve.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
