Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Very very glad Keilty retained his spot, hopefully he can get onto the end of a couple of decent kicks this week and showcase his true strength as a Forward.

How many minutes did Keilty spend forward last week? I was at the game and he seemed to be on the bench or in the middle for a good part of the second half?

Weird selection.

Jack ain’t a runner and I’m not sure how fit he is.

NB was ok last week so not sure what the reasoning is.

Also would have liked Preuss to come into the side if fit.

How Omac survives is beyond me.

Agree on ANB as his intensity great last week........Couple of other boys continue to be very very lucky

Yeah but NB was starting to hit some form for the first time this season and to drop him now doesn’t make much sense to me.

Another week of hmmmm selections, ANB was far from our worst last week....Wagner or Lewis were more deserving of a run in the VFL

5 score involvements and 3 of those 8 tackles were inside 50.  One of our best pressure / tacklers inside 50 also in general.  Can only think the low effective disposals went against but he was super clean running above AFL average at 75% DE for his 9 effectives and a cheeky snap goal front & square.

Statistically his best game for the year running at 19.5% above his 2018 average output.  He only had 4 matches last season where he scored better and i had him ranked 6th in weighted composites vs the rest of the team last week.

Statistically our best team result for the year also.

Personally could not fault his game myself.  Extremely stiff.  Hope it doesn't throw our inside/outside balance out of wack which IMHO nibbler was a key part of correcting substantially last week.

Jesus.. i watched the replay on Sunday and ANB didn't do anything major to be dropped. And thats saying something coming from me....

Viney of course the [censored] would have said he's right to go when he's probably only 70%.. selfish as usual from Jack.

Fmd I hope this doesn’t bite us on the caboose.

I suspect he's setting himself up for a big run now when we need him firing to hit the 2nd half running (r8-12) - if we lose these games then get him in for surgery and cherry ripe for 2020. If our season is alive then he'll set himself up for another late run rounds 18-23 after probably being injured r13-17 tbh. Hoping after the bye we can knock down some wins and then make a play for the 8 with him in there... then he rests in bye round.

Only one for me DV and that's the first one you listed.

Would have been better keeping a winning (better balanced inside/outside) team and resting/managing Viney for another week to bring him closer to speed to play the Weagles.

I assume they're doing this (managed) with Pruess for the same reason.

As long as we are being pedantic, you can be pedantic but you cannot be a pedantic. You are a pedant. sorry annoying post I know...But like you I hate the bs terminology creeping into AFL discussion. Goal Keeper, lace out, etc.

Agree with others that ANB is stiff after well and truly playing his role last week. I have never been massive ANB and Stretch fans, but the balance has been a lot better since they came back in imo.

Also...a great opportunity missed to manage Viney for the Eagles and send a huge message to all in the group that we are back on track and it's now going to be much harder to break into the team if you're omitted (for whatever reason!).  Solid follow up performance against GCS needed from the 22 as well with Viney pushing up.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
